The list at Jo's reads exactly like the restaurant feels — comfortable, unpretentious, and not trying to impress anyone. It's a west-coast-heavy California lineup that a Newport tourist will recognize on sight, which is either reassuring or a little predictable depending on your mood. No curveballs here, but no price shock either.
The bottle list runs 40-60 deep and leans hard into California and the Pacific Northwest, with Pinot Noir getting disproportionate real estate — we count at least eight options from Canyon Road to Emeritus. Cabernet Sauvignon rounds out the other half of the list, ranging from grocery-store standbys like Joel Gott up to Stag's Leap 'Artemis.' There's essentially no old-world presence and no white wine variety that's memorable enough to mention. If you came to Newport hoping to drink something you've never heard of, Jo's wine list is not your destination.
Ten to sixteen pours by the glass, landing between $10 and $16, which is honest pricing for Newport. The pour program mirrors the bottle list — expect familiar California faces rather than anything rotating or seasonal. It's functional and won't embarrass you, but don't expect the list to change much from visit to visit.
Decoy by Duckhorn Cabernet Sauvignon — $90 bottle range
Decoy punches well above its casual branding — it's Duckhorn's everyday label but it still drinks with more structure and fruit depth than most of its neighbors on this list. If you're splitting a bottle over steak frites, this is the move.
Columbia Crest H3 Merlot
Washington State Merlot is chronically underordered, and Columbia Crest's H3 is a legitimately serious wine that most people will gloss right past on their way to a Cab. Ripe, earthy, and built to handle a heavy bistro menu — give it a shot.
Canyon Road Pinot Noir
Canyon Road is a $7 supermarket bottle and there's no markup justification that makes it worth ordering in a restaurant setting. Spend a few more dollars and step up to literally anything else on this list.
Emeritus Pinot Noir + Lobster mac and cheese
Emeritus brings enough Sonoma Coast acidity and red fruit to cut through the richness of a lobster mac without bulldozing the seafood. It's the one Pinot on this list that earns its price tag next to a dish that actually needs a wine with some backbone.

Jo's is the neighborhood bistro wine list you already know — safe, fair, and perfectly matched to its cozy Newport setting. Send a friend here if they want a decent glass with clam chowder and no pressure; send a wine-obsessed friend somewhere else.
