Wingman Metrics
You open this list and the first thing you notice is a full section of Champagne that punches well above what Jackson, Mississippi typically offers. Seventy labels isn't massive, but for a steakhouse in this market, it signals someone actually thought about wine. The bottle prices top out at $335, which keeps things grounded even when the markup math doesn't always work in your favor.
The list leans hard into Champagne and Chardonnay — those are clearly the twin pillars here. The sparkling section runs the full spectrum from a $56 Piper Sonoma all the way up to a 2002 Dom Ruinart and a 2012 Dom Pérignon, which is a genuinely impressive range for a Jackson steakhouse. Chardonnay gets similar attention, with Rombauer and Sonoma-Cutrer alongside a Joseph Drouhin Chablis 2022 for the crowd that wants some Burgundian restraint with their ribeye. What we don't know is how the red wine and broader varietal selection holds up, though at 70 labels total there's presumably more ground covered beyond what's surfaced here.
By-the-glass options aren't documented in what we have, which is a real gap — if you can't crack a bottle for the table, it's not clear how well you're served. A list this focused on Champagne and premium Chardonnay should ideally have a few quality pours available by the glass, but we can't confirm that's the case here.
Joseph Drouhin Chablis 2022 — $80
Drouhin's Chablis is a name you can trust — clean, mineral, unoaked, everything you want cutting through a steakhouse meal. At $80 it's probably a 2.5x markup on retail, which isn't a steal but is reasonable for this category and context.
Ayala Brut Majeur
Most people at a steakhouse default to Veuve or Moët without blinking. Ayala — the smaller Reims house with a crisp, lower-dosage style — sits at $93 here and is genuinely more interesting than either of those bigger names. It's the move if you know what you're doing.
Veuve Clicquot Ponsardin Brut
At $145 this is a 3x-plus markup on a bottle you've seen at every grocery store and hotel minibar in America. The wine is fine. The value is not. Pick the Ayala instead and pocket the difference.
Schramsberg Crémant 2017 + Dry-aged ribeye
Schramsberg makes some of the most serious sparkling wine in California, and the Crémant's toasty, yeasty complexity and bright acidity will cut the fat on a dry-aged ribeye without fighting it. It's a genuinely unexpected combination that works — and at $95 it's the most interesting bottle in that mid-tier sparkling range.
The Bottom Line
Jackson's Steakhouse has a wine list that takes Champagne seriously — rare for Mississippi and worth noting. The markups are steeper than we'd like, but the range and quality of producers means you can still find a smart bottle if you know where to look.

Sombra's wine list isn't going to win any awards, but the Wine Wednesday half-price promotion turns an ordinary Tuesday-level list into a legitimately fun Wednesday-night move. Come for the tacos, stay for the deal.

Shapley's is the best wine list in the Jackson metro area by a comfortable margin — 180 labels with genuine ambition, even if the markups lean toward the steakhouse standard of 'you're paying for the room.' If you're eating prime beef in Mississippi and you care about what's in your glass, this is where you come.

Local 463 is the best wine list in Mississippi that most wine people don't know exists — genuinely surprising depth in a context that earns it the Wild Card badge with ease. Markups run steep on the prestige bottles, but the sheer ambition of this list in Ridgeland, Mississippi is worth celebrating.

Table 100 is a reliable neighborhood spot that happens to have wine on the menu — the program is functional, the happy hour is genuinely good, and the Sunday half-price nights in December are worth planning around. Just don't come here hunting for anything you haven't seen before.

STK Downtown is a place where people order Champagne to celebrate, not to drink — and the wine program is built accordingly. If you're here for the vibe and someone else is paying, pop the Dom and enjoy it; if you actually care about what's in your glass, you're in the wrong room.
