The list leans heavily on crowd-pleasing American and Italian standards — Santa Margherita Pinot Grigio, Decoy Cab, La Crema Chard — the kind of wines your aunt orders with confidence at any chain Italian restaurant. There's a nod toward Italian identity with mentions of single-vineyard selections from Piedmont to Sicily, but don't expect a deep dive into Barolo or Etna Rosso territory. Terrazas de los Andes Reserva Malbec 2021
It's Argentine, not Italian, so it gets overlooked on a list like this — but Terrazas Reserva consistently punches above its price point with proper Mendoza structure. At $13 a glass with a 44% markup, it's one of the quieter wins on the menu.
Santa Margherita Pinot Grigio Valdadige 2022
At $15 a glass, Santa Margherita carries its usual luxury tax — you're paying for the label more than what's in the glass. It's a perfectly fine wine that retails for $24, but the 62% glass markup makes it the least compelling value on the list. There are better uses for that $15.
La Crema Chardonnay Sonoma Coast 2022 + Seafood pasta
La Crema's Sonoma Coast Chard brings enough acidity to cut through butter and cream without steamrolling delicate seafood. It's not a cerebral wine, but it does the job cleanly alongside Amerigo's fresh seafood pasta options — and at $14 a glass, it's the right call.
