Wingman Metrics
Thirty-two labels isn't a lot to work with, but Hearsay earns its right to the table fast — this list reads like someone actually thought about it. Local Rogue Valley producers sit next to Willamette Valley heavyweights and a bubbly section that punches well above its weight. For a restaurant in Medford, this is not what we expected.
The Pacific Northwest backbone here is strong: Archery Summit and Bergström on the Pinot Noir side, Stoller on Chardonnay, and Abacela doing something genuinely interesting with Albariño that you don't often see on Oregon lists. Cowhorn Spiral is a wild card in the best possible sense — a biodynamic Applegate Valley white blend that signals someone on staff is paying attention. The bubbly section alone is worth the visit, ranging from a $10 Chandon pour-by-the-glass all the way up to Schramsberg and Veuve. The list is short, yes, but nearly every selection earns its spot.
Twenty-two of the thirty-two labels are available by the glass, which is a genuinely impressive ratio and gives this list real flexibility for a table that can't agree on a bottle. Glass prices span $10 to $42, with most options landing in the $36–$42 range — not cheap, but not highway robbery either for what's being poured. The bubbly-by-the-glass program in particular is a standout, with six sparkling options including Gruet Brut Rosé at $28 and Scharffenberger at $36.
Frenzy Mt. Richmond Estate Sauvignon Blanc — $24
At $24 a glass, this New Zealand estate Sauvignon Blanc undercuts most of the list by $10–$15 while delivering real terroir-driven character. It's the easy move for anyone who wants to drink well without feeling it the next morning.
Cowhorn Spiral
Most people at this table are going to reach for the Rombauer or the Archery Summit and miss this entirely. Cowhorn is a biodynamic Applegate Valley producer making genuinely exciting wines, and Spiral — their white blend — is the kind of bottle that makes you stop mid-conversation. At $42 a glass it's a commitment, but it's the most interesting pour on this list.
Rombauer Chardonnay
At $65, you're paying restaurant premium on a wine that's already priced for its brand recognition, not its quality. Rombauer is fine — it's just the easy button, and the Stoller Estate Chardonnay at $38 is a smarter, more interesting pour from the same general zip code.
Abacela Albariño + Seafood dish
Abacela's Albariño from Southern Oregon's Umpqua Valley has the citrus snap and salinity to cut through anything rich from the sea. It's an unusual grape for Oregon and it works exactly as well as you'd hope.
The Bottom Line
Hearsay is quietly doing something right in a wine market that doesn't get enough credit — local producers, smart bubbly program, and a by-the-glass list that gives you real options without holding you hostage to a bottle. If you're passing through Medford and think this is a beer-and-cocktails situation, reconsider.

The District Wine Bar is a wine bar in name but not in spirit — the list reads like it was assembled from a distributor's entry-level catalog, and sitting in the middle of Southern Oregon wine country without a single local bottle is a genuine missed opportunity. Order the Malbec, keep your expectations low, and save the serious wine conversation for somewhere else.

Fusion 45 is doing something genuinely ambitious for Peoria — a creative kitchen with Old World wine ambitions is not nothing — but until we can get eyes on the actual list with prices, we're cautiously optimistic rather than fully sold. Worth a visit, worth asking your server what's good to drink.
