You do not expect a wine list this thoughtful in Medford, Oregon. Eighty labels deep, with Champagne growers, Rogue Valley locals, and a piquette on the menu — this place is quietly doing things other fine dining spots in much bigger cities aren't bothering with. It reads like a list assembled by someone who actually drinks wine.
The Rogue Valley representation is genuinely impressive: Cowhorn, Quady North, Troon, Plaisance Ranch, and CÓRIA all make appearances, showing real commitment to the local wine scene rather than token bottles thrown in for regional credibility. Beyond southern Oregon, the sparkling section punches way above its weight — José Michel & Fils Spécial Club and Franck Bonville Grand Cru Champagne sitting alongside Revi Trentodoc and a Crémant de Loire tells us whoever built this list has range. The red selection spans Grenache, Syrah, Tempranillo, Pinot Noir, and a Napa Cab, so there's legitimate variety without feeling random. If there's a gap, it's that we'd love to see more Old World table wine depth beyond the sparkling section.
By-the-glass specifics weren't available at review time, which is the one frustrating blind spot here. Given the overall list quality, we'd expect a respectable pour program — but we can't confirm counts or rotation. Worth asking your server directly before committing to a bottle.
Troon Piquette Rosé — null
Piquette is the ultimate low-intervention, low-pretension wine — made from grape pomace refermented with water, it's light, funky, and interesting in the best way. Seeing it on a fine dining list in Medford is a small miracle. Order it before someone tells them it doesn't belong here.
Revi Trentodoc Brut
Everyone goes straight for the Champagne, which means the Trentodoc gets ignored. That's a mistake. Trentodoc is Italy's answer to traditional-method sparkling — made the same way as Champagne, with more tension and minerality than Prosecco, and almost always at a better price point. Gogi's has one and most tables are probably walking right past it.
Bonanno Cabernet Sauvignon Napa
A Napa Cab on a list this Oregon-forward feels like an obligation pick rather than a passionate one. It's the safe order for the table guest who 'only drinks Cab,' and it's almost certainly marked up to match its zip code. The Quady North Syrah or Plaisance Ranch Tempranillo will be more interesting and probably better value.
Cowhorn Spiral Viognier/Marsanne/Roussanne + Ask your server for the chef's fish or vegetable feature
Cowhorn's Spiral blend is biodynamic Rogue Valley at its most expressive — aromatic, textured, with the kind of stony weight that cuts through rich preparations. A white Rhône-style blend like this is built for food, and whatever the kitchen is doing with seasonal produce or seafood will be better with this in the glass.
The Bottom Line
Gogi's is the best wine list in southern Oregon that most people outside of Medford have never heard of. If you're passing through on your way to Ashland or the valley wineries, stop here first — the list earns the detour.
