The wine list at Bella Union is a pleasant surprise for a saloon — 40 labels organized cleanly across whites, rosés, reds, sparkling, and dessert wines, with a genuine commitment to Southern Oregon producers that gives the whole thing a sense of place. Prices cap out at $60, which keeps things approachable without feeling like an afterthought. This isn't a destination wine list, but it earns its keep.
The regional representation here is genuinely commendable — Quady North, Roxy Ann, Del Rio, Ravissant Cellars, and Abacela all show up, giving the list a distinctly Rogue Valley personality that most restaurants in this price bracket don't bother with. There's a decent white wine bench: Abacela's Albariño adds some Iberian intrigue, the Pra Suave brings an Italian flourish, and Au Bon Climat gives the Chardonnay section some credibility. The red side is thinner — Ken Wright Pinot Noir and Quady North Syrah carry most of the weight, and beyond that it leans on familiar commercial names. A few more adventurous reds would round this out, but what's here is respectable.
Eight by-the-glass options at $7–$11 is solid territory for Medford — you're not getting gouged, and the range covers the bases without being lazy about it. We'd love to see more local producers rotate through the glass program, since the bottle list does the region proud. As it stands, it's a functional pour list that won't embarrass anyone.
Charles Smith Kung Fu Girl Riesling — $25
At $25 a bottle, this is the easiest yes on the list. Kung Fu Girl reliably overdelivers for the price — bright, dry-leaning, with enough fruit and acid to work through an entire Italian-American dinner without wearing out its welcome.
Abacela Albariño
Most tables here are going to order Pinot Gris or Chardonnay without a second thought, which means this Abacela Albariño gets overlooked constantly. Abacela has been growing Albariño in the Umpqua Valley longer than almost anyone in Oregon, and the result is a savory, citrus-driven white that punches well above its station on a list like this.
Annabella Chardonnay
At $45, Annabella Chardonnay is doing a lot of work to justify its place on a list that also carries Au Bon Climat for $50. Spend the extra five dollars and get something with actual pedigree, or go cheaper and grab Kung Fu Girl — Annabella doesn't earn its price point here.
Quady North Syrah + Italian pasta with meat sauce
Quady North is one of the Rogue Valley's standard-bearers for Syrah — dark, peppery, and structured enough to hold up against a rich meat sauce. It's the most local and most characterful red on the list, and it earns its $55 ask in a way the Annabella Cab doesn't.
The Bottom Line
Bella Union doesn't reinvent the wine list, but it does right by Southern Oregon — fair prices, genuine local representation, and enough range to make dinner interesting. Send your friends here knowing they won't get burned.

Gogi's is the best wine list in southern Oregon that most people outside of Medford have never heard of. If you're passing through on your way to Ashland or the valley wineries, stop here first — the list earns the detour.
