The list at Harrison's lands right where you'd expect a popular Stowe village steakhouse to land — recognizable names, familiar regions, nothing that's going to make you nervous or excited. It reads like a restaurant that knows its audience and plays directly to them, which is fine, even if it leaves a little discovery on the table.
The 80-to-130 bottle count gives Harrison's enough room to do something interesting, and they use it reasonably well. You'll find Loire Valley representation with Domaine Fournier's Sancerre, Oregon Pinot from Ken Wright's Shea Vineyard — one of Willamette's most respected sites — and some crowd-friendly California weight in the Michael David Petite Sirah blend. The regional focus skews France and West Coast American, which makes sense for steak-forward dining, but there's a noticeable absence of Italian or Spanish options that would add real range. It's a list built for comfort, not exploration.
Twelve to eighteen pours by the glass is a respectable count for a Vermont village restaurant, and the La Vieille Ferme Rosé anchors the casual end well — it's a reliable crowd-pleaser at an accessible price point. We'd like to see more adventurous pours in the glass lineup, but what's here covers the basics without embarrassing anyone.
La Vieille Ferme Rosé — null
Perrin's everyday Provence-style rosé from the Rhône is consistently well-made and almost always fairly priced. It's the move when you want something light and food-friendly without overthinking it — especially solid as an opener before the prime rib arrives.
Ken Wright Cellars Shea Vineyard Pinot Noir 2017
Shea Vineyard is one of the Willamette Valley's most celebrated sites, and Ken Wright is a serious producer. This is the kind of bottle most people at a steakhouse skip in favor of something bigger, but the 2017 vintage brought enough structure and depth to hold its own next to a filet. Most tables will walk right past it.
Michael David 'Petite Petit' Petite Sirah/Petit Verdot 2016
Michael David is a high-volume Lodi producer, and Petite Petit is their workhorse blend — widely distributed, widely marked up in restaurants. You can find this on a shelf for not much, so paying restaurant prices here is a tough sell when the Ken Wright is sitting right there on the same list.
Domaine Fournier 'Les Belles Vignes' Sancerre 2018 + Vermont Cheese Board
Sancerre and a Vermont cheese board is one of those combinations that just makes sense — the Sauvignon Blanc's crisp acidity and citrus edge cut through the richness of aged cheddars and soft fresh cheeses without bullying them. Start here, then order your steak.

Harrison's is the kind of reliable neighborhood anchor that Stowe regulars and ski-weekend visitors can count on — the wine list won't blow your mind, but it won't let you down either. Send a friend here knowing they'll drink fine; just don't send them expecting a deep dive.

Trattoria La Festa is not a destination for the wine list — it's a destination for the atmosphere, the pasta, and crucially, Wednesday night, when every bottle under $100 goes half-price and suddenly a $50 Antinori feels like a very smart midweek decision. Go on a Wednesday, order the Bramito, and stop overthinking it.
