Thirteen labels. That's it. The wine list at Habitat Kitchen & Bar is less a curated program and more a placeholder — a handful of crowd-pleasers and a Champagne section that swings for the fences in a way the rest of the list simply doesn't support. It reads like someone grabbed the most recognizable names they could think of and called it a day.
The list breaks down into four loose categories — red, white, rosé, and sparkling — but calling it a selection feels generous. On the red side, you've got Altos Malbec and Emporium Rosso, both solid grocery-tier pours but nothing that signals any real curation. The white is a single Southern Ocean Sauvignon Blanc, which does the job without asking any questions. The sparkling section is where things get strange: La Marca Prosecco sits alongside Moët, Veuve Clicquot, and a $800 Dom Pérignon Luminous bottle, creating a price gulf that makes the list feel less like a wine program and more like a Vegas table service menu.
Nine of the thirteen labels are available by the glass, which is actually a decent ratio. Glass pours run from $11 for the Emporium Rosso up to $50 for the Moët & Chandon Brut, which is a genuinely steep ask for a by-the-glass pour. The mid-range options — Hampton Water at $16/glass and Whispering Angel at $14/glass — are predictable rosé standbys that will move volume but won't surprise anyone.
The Bottom Line
Habitat's wine list is a shortcut, not a program — thirteen labels, predictable producers, and Champagne markups that feel disconnected from the rest of the dining experience. The Dom J Laurens is a genuinely good find buried in an otherwise unremarkable lineup, but one good pick doesn't make a wine destination. Stick to cocktails unless you're specifically hunting that Crémant.

Trattoria Lucia isn't trying to be a wine destination, but it's also not treating wine as an afterthought — and in a neighborhood spot operating at this price point, that distinction matters. The Italian-only regional focus gives it credibility. We'd want verified glass prices and a confirmed pour list before making stronger recommendations, but as a neighborhood go-to for cacio e pepe and a glass of something Sicilian, Lucia earns the visit.

Beso Buckhead is a wine list that punches a little above its size, mostly because whoever built it had the sense to include the Txakoli and lean toward lesser-known producers alongside the crowd pleasers. Markups in the Champagne section are hard to defend, but the by-the-glass program is wide enough that you can drink well without getting gouged. If you're here for a fun glass of something unexpected, the Txakoli is your move.

Spaceman is unambiguously a cocktail bar with a wine list stapled on — and the wine list reflects that priority honestly, if not flatteringly. Markups are steep across the board, the selection is unadventurous, and there's no evidence of anyone on staff who loses sleep over the Riesling selection. Come for the view and the Spaceman Old Fashioned; if you're ordering wine, stick to the Whitehaven and enjoy the skyline.

Spice and Sky's wine list is a low-effort placeholder — familiar brands, steep markups on accessible wines, and no apparent thought given to how wine interacts with an Asian kitchen. If you're here, start with the Bex Riesling for $9 and call it a night. For serious wine drinking, look elsewhere.

Old Fourth Ward · Atlanta · Mediterranean/Greek/Middle Eastern
Rina's wine list is an afterthought attached to what sounds like a genuinely interesting kitchen. The four bottles available are priced fairly enough, but there's no ambition here — no connection to the cuisine, no rotation, no reason to think anyone gave the wine program more than ten minutes of consideration. Order a cocktail or a glass of the Chianti and move on.

Terra Terroir is the kind of neighborhood spot that quietly over-delivers — a sommelier, a focused Old World list, and half-price bottles twice a week in a room that feels more Inman Park than Peachtree strip mall. We'd send a friend here on a Sunday without hesitation and tell them to ask the sommelier what they're excited about right now.

The Blue Bicycle punches above its weight for a small-town bistro — fair prices, an unusually high BTG count, and a few genuine surprises like the Cheverny make it a solid wine stop in Dawsonville. If you're passing through and want a real glass of wine with dinner, this is your place.

If you're heading to Salt & Pepper Cafe, go for the food and order a cocktail. With four grocery-tier wines, no disclosed pricing, and no sign of a curated approach, the wine program exists in name only. This is a Lazy List — not necessarily the restaurant's fault if wine isn't the point, but it's not the place to drink well.

Riverstone Corner Bistro isn't trying to be a wine destination, but it's doing something quietly impressive: stocking a wine list with genuine range, pricing it fairly, and making nearly all of it available by the glass. For Canton, GA, that's not a small thing. If you're in the area and care even a little about what's in your glass, this is your spot.
