Cheese Toast Is Great, Wine List Is Not

Flip open the bar menu at Demos' and you're basically browsing the endcap at your local Kroger. Fourteen wines, all recognizable names, zero surprises — this list exists to check a box, not to excite anyone.
The entire list is California commercial and one Australian import, with Yellow Tail holding down the budget tier and Francis Ford Coppola doing its best impression of a serious wine at an unserious price point. There's no regional exploration, no small producers, and no attempt to match the Italian-American menu with anything remotely Italian. If you were hoping for a Montepulciano alongside the chicken lasagna, keep hoping. The list reads like someone opened a wine distributor catalog, circled the names they recognized, and called it a day.
All fourteen bottles are available by the glass, which sounds generous until you realize that just means every grocery-store brand is available in a smaller pour. Prices range from $6 for Yellow Tail Pinot Grigio up to $15 for the Francis Ford Coppola Cab. The range is there; the quality floor is not.
Yellow Tail Pinot Grigio — $6/glass, $24/bottle
It's Yellow Tail, so temper expectations accordingly — but at $6 a glass on a list with nothing more interesting to offer, it's the least painful option if you want something cold and white. On a Tuesday 2-for-1, you're basically drinking for free.
Francis Ford Coppola Chardonnay
It's not hidden and it's not a gem, but relative to the rest of this list it's the most effort Coppola puts into a bottle. If you're stuck choosing, it at least has some structure that holds up against the heavier pasta dishes.
Francis Ford Coppola Cabernet Sauvignon
At $39 a bottle, you're paying a significant premium for a wine that retails around $12-$15 at any grocery store in Tennessee. It's the most expensive bottle on the list and the worst value per dollar. Order the $24 Yellow Tail and invest the difference in an extra order of cheese toast.
Cupcake Vineyards Red Velvet Red Blend + Chicken Lasagna
The Red Velvet is soft, a little jammy, and low on tannin — which means it won't fight the rich béchamel and cheese in the lasagna. It's not a pairing you'd brag about, but it's the most food-friendly red on a list that isn't trying very hard.
Tuesday & Wednesday — 2-for-1 glasses of wine on Tuesdays; half-price bottles on Wednesdays. The deals are real and the only reason to engage with this list at all.
❌ The Bottom Line
Demos' is genuinely good at what it does — big portions, fair prices, family-friendly chaos — but the wine list is an afterthought dressed up as a program. Come for the cheese toast, drink a cocktail, and save the wine order for somewhere that cares.

Wasabi is a fun spot for teppanyaki and sushi, but the wine list is an afterthought dressed up as a menu section. Order the plum wine, enjoy the hibachi show, and save the serious bottle for somewhere else.

Downtown Murfreesboro · Murfreesboro · Brewpub
Blackhorse is a genuinely good brewpub, and you should absolutely order a pint. The wine list, though, is purely functional — it exists so the person at the table who doesn't drink beer has something to order, and it doesn't pretend to be anything more than that.

Logan's Roadhouse in Murfreesboro isn't trying to impress you with wine, and it succeeds. Save your wine budget for somewhere that's actually spending a moment thinking about it — here, order the whiskey.

O'Charley's isn't where you come for a wine experience, but if you're here for the food and want a fair pour at a fair price, the list delivers exactly that. Send a friend here for the Wednesday half-price wine night and keep expectations calibrated.

Chili's wine program is a checkbox, not a commitment — and the Murfreesboro location is no exception. Drink the margaritas, eat the ribs, and don't let anyone at the table order the bottle.

Puckett's is a great night out for live music and serious BBQ — but the wine list is here because it has to be, not because anyone really wanted it. Stick to the A. Marshall pours during happy hour and let the food do the talking.
