Wingman Metrics
Fifteen labels isn't a lot to work with, but Crafted makes every one count β this is clearly a list built by someone who actually thinks about wine, not just appends a few Costco staples to a menu. The regional focus is tight and proud: Washington state and the Pacific Northwest anchor nearly everything here. For a farm-to-table spot in downtown Yakima, that's exactly the right move.
The list skews heavily local, which we respect β Horse Heaven Hills, Columbia Valley, and Yakima Valley producers dominate, and you'll spot names like J Bell Cellars and Sage Rat that most diners outside the region wouldn't recognize. There's a nice spread across white-leaning options, from the Adami Prosecco as a crowd-pleaser entry point to the Day Wines 'Isla' Vermentino from Applegate Valley bringing genuine character. The Northstar Merlot rounds out the reds as a recognizable anchor, though the red depth is noticeably thinner than the white side. Gaps exist β no Syrah on a Yakima Valley list is a small crime β but what's here is coherent and purposeful.
All 15 labels are available by the glass, which means no bottle-only gatekeeping β you can explore the whole list one pour at a time. Glass prices run $10β$18, which is reasonable given the quality of producers and the sit-down atmosphere. Rotation doesn't appear to be a regular feature, so the list reads more like a curated snapshot than a living document.
NORTHSTAR Merlot Horse Heaven Hills β $14
Northstar is a serious Merlot producer β their Horse Heaven Hills fruit consistently punches above its weight, and $14 a glass for this kind of pedigree is genuinely fair. Order it without hesitation.
SAGE RAT Ratto Bianco (Riesling, Pinot Grigio, Orange Muscat)
Most people will scroll past a blend with a rat on the label and three grapes they can't immediately categorize β don't be that person. This is an offbeat, textured white that plays right into the farm-to-table ethos of the kitchen, and it's the most interesting thing on the list by a mile.
LAURENT-PERRIER Champagne 375mL
At $36 for a half-bottle, you're paying a premium for a recognizable French name on a list that's otherwise celebrating the Pacific Northwest. It's not offensive juice, but it feels out of place and out of proportion β pop it for a birthday toast if you must, but the Tirriddis Blanc de Blanc tells a better local story for less.
DAY WINES 'Isla' Vermentino Applegate Valley OR + Local produce-focused small plates
Vermentino's bright acidity and slight herbal edge were basically engineered to cut through seasonal vegetables and light preparations. Day Wines makes a precise, clean version that won't compete with whatever the kitchen is doing with local produce β it just makes everything taste more alive.
π² The Bottom Line
Crafted is the kind of wine list that rewards curious drinkers who want to explore the region they're sitting in, not just order something familiar. It's small, it's local, and it's built with care β send a friend here and tell them to skip the Champagne.
West Yakima Β· Yakima Β· Pub / American
Mickey's Pub isn't a wine bar and doesn't pretend to be, but the Wednesday half-price bottle deal makes it genuinely worth a stop if you're already in the neighborhood. Stick to the Pacific Rim, skip the Conundrum, and enjoy the fact that you're drinking Columbia Valley Riesling in Yakima for next to nothing.

Rooted is doing something genuinely worthwhile: a tight, local-first wine list that treats Washington producers with the same respect the kitchen gives its farmers. It's not a destination wine program, but for a quick dinner in Yakima, this is exactly the list you'd want in front of you.
