The wine list at Cosimo's arrives exactly as expected at a warm, wood-fired Italian trattoria — approachable, familiar, and built for people who already know what they want before the server gets to the table. Nothing here is going to surprise you, but the prices are reasonable enough that ordering a bottle doesn't feel like a penalty. It's the wine equivalent of a dependable old sweater.
The list leans hard into Italy and California, which makes sense given the concept, but the Italian representation stays firmly in tourist-menu territory — Ruffino Chianti Classico and Santa Margherita Pinot Grigio are the kinds of bottles you'd find at any airport wine bar from Newark to LAX. There's no real exploration of the broader Italian landscape here: no Barbera, no Nero d'Avola, no Vermentino to get excited about. The California side fills the gaps with crowd-pleasing staples like Meiomi Pinot Noir and Wente Chardonnay. The list gets the job done, but it never reaches beyond arm's length.
Eight to twelve options by the glass is a respectable count for a neighborhood trattoria, and the $10–$15 price point won't leave you wincing. Most people order this on autopilot without realizing it's actually one of the better-pedigreed bottles on the list. The Alto Adige designation means it comes from a cooler alpine region, giving it more structure and crispness than the flabby Pinot Grigios that dominate Italian-American restaurant lists. It's still a familiar name, but there's more going on in the glass than most diners expect.
Meiomi Pinot Noir, California
At $50+ a bottle, you're paying a significant markup for a wine that retails around $15 at any grocery store. It's sweet, it's smooth, and it will absolutely disappear — but there's no reason to pay restaurant prices for something this available and this predictable.

Chianti Classico's bright acidity and cherry-driven fruit cut right through the richness of the breaded chicken and tomato sauce, cleansing the palate between bites without fighting the dish. It's a classic combination for a reason, and it works every time.
