Wingman Metrics
The wine list at Copper Rill is short enough to read before your bread arrives — about 16 bottles plus house pours — but it's put together with enough intention that you don't feel like an afterthought. For Idaho Falls, this is a legitimately decent effort. Bottles top out around $45, which tells you exactly what kind of place this is: upscale-casual, not trying to impress anyone's wine club.
The list leans Pacific Northwest with a smart nod to the region's strengths — Willamette Valley Pinot Grigio and Whole Cluster Pinot Noir anchor the local angle, while Peter Yealands and Decoy Sauvignon Blanc cover the crowd-pleaser bases from New Zealand and California respectively. Spain sneaks in with a Lan Crianza, which is the most interesting bottle on the list and probably the most overlooked. Argentina shows up via Catena Malbec, and Zonin Prosecco and Veuve du Vernay Brut Rosé handle the bubbles. There are no real gaps per se — just no real depth beyond the first tier of recognizable names.
Eleven by-the-glass options is a solid number for a restaurant this size, spread across eight whites, six reds, and a few sparkling pours. Prices run $8–$15 a glass, and the $7.50 nine-ounce house pour is genuinely cheap without being embarrassing. Rotation doesn't appear to be a priority here — this looks like a set-it-and-forget-it list that holds steady season to season.
Lan Crianza — $33–$45
A Rioja Crianza in this price range at a riverfront American steakhouse-ish spot is a minor miracle. Lan is a reliable, well-made producer and Crianza-level Rioja — aged in oak with real Tempranillo structure — routinely outdrinks bottles twice the price. Most tables will walk right past it for the Decoy. Don't be those people.
Willamette Whole Cluster Pinot Noir
Whole cluster fermentation on a Pinot Noir gives you a more savory, stems-forward style that's genuinely interesting — and it's sitting on a list otherwise full of easy-drinking crowd pleasers. Most diners here are ordering Malbec or Cab. This is the pour for someone who actually wants to think about what's in their glass.
Decoy Sauvignon Blanc
Decoy is fine. It's also at every grocery store, every chain restaurant, and probably your neighbor's fridge. At $8–$15 a glass, you're paying restaurant markup on a wine you could grab at Costco for $14 a bottle. The Peter Yealands next to it is a better drink and a smarter spend.
Revelry Rosé + Crab Cakes
Crab cakes want acidity and a little fruit without getting steamrolled — Revelry Rosé, a Washington State producer with clean, bright structure, does exactly that. It's got enough backbone to cut through any richness in the remoulade without overwhelming the actual crab. Simple call, right answer.
✔️ The Bottom Line
Copper Rill isn't going to blow anyone's mind, but for a riverfront dinner in Idaho Falls, the wine list is honest, fairly priced, and has at least two or three bottles worth caring about. Send a friend here for the Lan Crianza and the river view — just don't expect anyone behind the bar to geek out with you about it.

Jakers isn't going to win any wine awards, but for a steakhouse in Idaho Falls it punches above its weight on value — especially during happy hour when half-price house wines make a pre-dinner glass genuinely hard to argue with. Send a friend here for a steak night and point them toward the Willamette Pinot or the Lan Crianza; they'll thank you.

Buffalo Wild Wings Idaho Falls is a perfectly fine place to watch a game and eat wings — just don't let the wine list anywhere near your evening. Order a beer, order a cocktail, order a second order of wings. The wine program is an afterthought and it shows in every bottle markup and unbranded house pour.

Junkyard Bistro's wine list is doing the bare minimum — recognizable names, steep markups on the top shelf, and nothing to make you put down your phone and pay attention. Drink the St. Chappelle, skip the Cakebread Cab at that price, and save your serious wine curiosity for somewhere that earns it.

The SnakeBite isn't a wine destination, but it's a Wild Card worth knowing about — a downtown burger joint that bothered to build a real wine list with fair prices and decent range. Come for the burgers, stay for the Pessimist.

Smokin Fins isn't a wine destination, but it's a competent one — the list is safe, a little overpriced, and built to please rather than impress. Order the Kim Crawford, eat the ahi tuna, and you'll leave happy enough.

Jaker's isn't a wine destination, but it's not trying to be one — it's a solid neighborhood steakhouse with a wine list that does exactly what it needs to do. Send a friend here confident they won't be gouged or confused, just fed and poured reasonably well.

This is a wine list for people who aren't really thinking about wine, and there's no shame in ordering a cocktail instead. If you're staying at the hotel, grab a glass at the bar and call it a night — just don't expect the list to reward any real attention.

Clyde's isn't a wine destination, but it's not trying to be — and the Monday half-price bottle deal genuinely redeems a list that would otherwise be hard to recommend at full price. Come for the vibe, come back on a Monday.

This is a wine list that exists purely because restaurants are expected to have one. Don't come to Applebee's for wine — but if you're already here and you need a glass, the Mondavi Cab won't embarrass you.
