You open the wine list and quickly realize it's basically a Cooper's Hawk catalog — every label is theirs, built for a national audience who wants something approachable and polished without any homework required. That's not a knock exactly, just an honest orientation: you're at a winery restaurant, and the winery is the whole point. The room feels like a grown-up Cheesecake Factory with better lighting and a tasting counter near the entrance.
The list runs deep in sheer volume — dozens of Cooper's Hawk proprietary labels spanning Chardonnay, Cabernet, Meritage blends, rosé, and some sweeter styles — but the range is one-dimensional in origin. Nearly everything pours from Cooper's Hawk's own portfolio, sourced from California and blended to a consistent, approachable house style. There's a small window of international wines by the glass, but those labels rotate and aren't the reason anyone comes here. If you want terroir-driven bottles from Burgundy, the Rhône, or even Oregon, this is the wrong zip code for that conversation.
The by-the-glass program is genuinely generous in scale — you won't struggle to find something to drink, and happy hour drops select pours to $8, which is legitimately good value for a sit-down restaurant in Annapolis. Most glasses land between $9 and $14, which feels fair given the polished setting. Rotation isn't much of a factor here since the list is proprietary and largely static, but what you see is reliably consistent pour to pour.
Cooper's Hawk Artist's Red — $26
At $26 a bottle with a retail of around $18, the markup is modest by restaurant standards — roughly 44%. For a crowd-pleasing proprietary red blend in a full-service dining room with decent stemware and table service, this is the move if you're splitting a bottle and not trying to over-think it.
Cooper's Hawk Lux Chardonnay
Most people sleeping on this one are defaulting to the standard Chardonnay, but the Lux tier is a step up in texture and intention. At $32 a bottle it's only a few dollars more than the entry-level pour and the gap in quality is noticeable — richer, with more restraint on the oak than you'd expect from a chain winery bottling.
International by-the-glass selections
The small rotating slate of international wines by the glass sounds intriguing on paper, but in practice you have no idea what's actually being poured until you ask, the staff confidence on those bottles is thinner, and you're almost certainly getting worse value than just leaning into the Cooper's Hawk program. You didn't come here for a mystery Malbec.
Cooper's Hawk Lux Chardonnay + Dana's Parmesan-crusted chicken
The Lux Chardonnay has enough body and subtle richness to stand up to a crispy, cheese-forward crust without bulldozing the dish. It's a classic white-with-white-meat pairing that actually makes sense here — both are polished, both are crowd-pleasers, and neither one is trying to surprise you.
