Wingman Metrics
The wine list at City Fish Market reads like it was assembled by someone who asked, 'What do people order at seafood restaurants?' and then stopped there. Cakebread, Kim Crawford, Santa Margherita — all the usual suspects are present and accounted for. It's comfortable and familiar, which is either reassuring or a little boring depending on your mood.
Somewhere between 80 and 120 labels covering California, Italy, and France, with a sensible lean toward whites and lighter reds that play well with fresh fish. The California contingent is strong — La Crema, Jordan, Silver Oak, Mondavi — and there's a nod to France with the Louis Jadot Pouilly-Fuissé, which is a genuinely good call on a seafood list. What's missing is any sense of adventure: no interesting domestic producers, no interesting grower Champagnes, no skin-contact whites, nothing that would make you look up from the menu. It does the job, but it's not trying to impress anyone who pays attention.
Ten to sixteen options by the glass at $10–$17 keeps things accessible, and the range covers the basics — a Chardonnay, a Sauvignon Blanc, a Pinot Grigio, probably a Cab for the red-wine-with-fish crowd. There's no obvious rotation or curation happening here; what you see is what you get, every visit.
Jordan Cabernet Sauvignon — $110
Relative to everything else on this list, Jordan is the least painful markup at around 69% over retail — which, yes, is still steep, but it's the closest thing to fair you'll find here. It's also a genuinely well-made bottle that can handle a heartier fish preparation without bullying it off the plate.
Louis Jadot Pouilly-Fuissé
Most tables at a place like this reach for the Cakebread Chardonnay on autopilot, but the Jadot Pouilly-Fuissé is the smarter move. It's a Burgundy-style Chardonnay with real texture and minerality — exactly what you want next to a well-prepared piece of fish — and it tends to fly under the radar because it doesn't have a California zip code.
Kim Crawford Sauvignon Blanc
At $39 a bottle for something you can grab at Publix for $16, you're paying a 144% markup on a wine that requires zero effort to find anywhere. It's not a bad wine, it's just a bad deal — and there are better options on this list for similar or less money.
Louis Jadot Pouilly-Fuissé + Crab Cakes
The Pouilly-Fuissé brings enough body to stand up to the richness of the crab cakes without the oak-bomb weight of a bigger Napa Chardonnay. The wine's subtle earthiness and clean finish cut through the fat and let the crab actually taste like crab.
Monday — Happy hour specials in the bar area run Monday through Friday early evening and reportedly include discounted wine by the glass and cocktails. Some local sources mention Monday specifically for wine deals, but the restaurant does not publish a formal half-price wine night — call ahead to confirm current specials before planning around it.
✔️ The Bottom Line
City Fish Market is a dependable seafood institution with a wine list that matches — reliable, familiar, and priced like it knows you're not going anywhere. If you're here for fresh fish and a classic Boca night out, you'll eat well; just go in knowing the wine program won't be the highlight.
Boca Raton · Boca Raton · Modern Italian Steakhouse
Dorsia's wine list is exactly what it wants to be — polished, crowd-pleasing, and priced for a room that's spending freely. If you're after discovery or value, you'll have to work for it; if you're here for the scene and a great steak, Caymus and a Super Tuscan have you covered.

Downtown/Mizner Park · Boca Raton · Classic Italian
Louie Bossi's isn't going to win any awards for wine curation, but that daily half-price bottle program is a legitimate reason to show up. Order an entrée, pick strategically, and you'll drink better than the list price would ever suggest.

West Boca · Boca Raton · Japanese and Thai
Bluefin is a solid spot for sushi and Thai food, but the wine list is an afterthought — overpriced commodity wines with no connection to the cuisine they're supposed to accompany. If you're coming here, order a sake or a cocktail and save the wine night for somewhere that cares.

Maggiano's isn't where you go to discover wine — it's where you go to eat a mountain of pasta and not overthink the bottle. Come on a Tuesday, when half-price wine turns a steep list into a genuinely solid deal, and you'll leave happy.

West Boca · Boca Raton · French and Mediterranean-inspired bistro
La Ferme isn't a wine destination, but it's a genuinely solid French bistro wine program that respects the cuisine and doesn't gouge you for the privilege. If Tuesday's half-price bottle promotion is still running, it's one of the better midweek wine deals in Boca.

The Melting Pot Boca isn't a wine destination, but Wine Down Thursday flips the math enough to make it worth the trip if you're already coming for the fondue. Go on a Thursday, order the Riesling, and ignore the Caymus upsell.

Red Lobster Beaumont is not a wine destination and has no interest in becoming one — the list is corporate, the pricing outside Happy Hour is hard to justify, and nobody on staff is going to help you navigate it. Show up for the cheddar biscuits and a $5 Happy Hour pour if you must, but don't plan your evening around the wine.
