Wingman Metrics
You flip open the menu at Applebee's and the wine section is roughly the size of a Post-it note. Eight to twelve bottles, all of them names you've seen on a gas station shelf, and zero pretense that anyone here thought hard about this. It's a wine list by obligation, not by passion.
The list is a greatest hits of California mass-market production — Sutter Home, Woodbridge by Robert Mondavi, Barefoot. These aren't producers; they're brands engineered for maximum inoffensiveness and minimum cost. There's no regional diversity, no interesting grapes, no small producers, nothing that would make a curious drinker lean in. If you came here hoping to find a sneaky Sonoma Pinot or a rogue Malbec, close the menu and order a beer.
Most of the list is available by the glass, which is really the only way you'd want to drink any of it. Pours clock in at $6–$10, which is honest pricing for what's in the bottle. Rotation appears nonexistent — what's on today was probably on six months ago and will be on six months from now.
Woodbridge by Robert Mondavi Chardonnay — $7
It's not exciting, but Woodbridge Chardonnay is competently made, consistent, and at this price point it's not trying to be anything it isn't. If you need a glass of something white with your meal and don't want to think about it, this is your least regrettable move.
Barefoot Pinot Grigio
Nobody orders Barefoot Pinot Grigio on purpose, but in a lineup this thin, its light, neutral profile actually works if you're eating something fried and just want something cold and refreshing to cut through it. Low expectations, occasionally met.
Sutter Home Cabernet Sauvignon
Sutter Home Cab at a bar markup is the worst outcome here. It's jammy, sweet, and flat in a way that makes you wish you'd ordered iced tea. Save yourself.
Woodbridge by Robert Mondavi Chardonnay + Classic Chicken Tenders
Woodbridge Chardonnay is soft, lightly oaky, and completely inoffensive — which makes it weirdly functional next to a plate of chicken tenders. The mild creaminess holds up to the fried coating without fighting it. It's not a pairing worth writing home about, but it works.
❌ The Bottom Line
Applebee's wine list exists because it legally has to, not because anyone here loves wine. Order the cocktails, drink the beer, and come back for wine somewhere else.
Broadway · Everett · Mexican
Tampico is a neighborhood Mexican spot that does its core job well — the wine list is simply not part of that job. Order the margaritas, grab a Sangria carafe if you need something to share, and save the wine conversation for somewhere else.

Everett · Everett · Steakhouse
Outback Everett feeds a lot of people well, but the wine list is pure cruise control — familiar labels, chain markups, and zero effort to go beyond the obvious. Order the Ste. Michelle, enjoy your steak, and don't come here expecting anything more from the bottle.

Red Lobster's wine list exists to check a box, not to enhance your meal. Order the Ste. Michelle Riesling, enjoy your biscuits, and save the serious wine for somewhere that actually cares.

Buffalo Wild Wings Everett is not a wine destination — it is a sports bar that happens to have a few bottles on a shelf somewhere. Save your wine curiosity for literally anywhere else in Everett and order the beer.

Olive Garden's wine list is the dining equivalent of airport Wi-Fi — functional, fine, and not something you'd ever brag about. Order the Chianti, enjoy the breadsticks, and save the serious bottle for somewhere that earned it.

Red Robin's wine list is a corporate checkbox, not a wine program. Order a craft beer, a milkshake, or a cocktail — those are the actual reasons to sit at this bar.
