Wingman Metrics
Flip open this list and one thing becomes immediately clear: someone here is deeply, almost single-mindedly in love with Brunello di Montalcino. Sixty-nine labels sounds like a proper wine list until you realize a significant chunk of that real estate belongs to one appellation. It's not a wine list so much as a Montalcino fan club membership card.
The Brunello section is genuinely impressive — we're talking Biondi-Santi Tenuta Greppo, Poggio di Sotto, Fuligni, Le Ragnaie, Marroneto's Madonna delle Grazie, and Siro Pacenti's Pelagrilli all on the same menu in Atlanta. That's a serious collection of producers, spanning classic traditionalists to more modern-leaning estates. The list also nods to Chianti Classico, Vino Nobile, Super Tuscans, and Bolgheri, which rounds things out on paper, though the Brunello section so dominates the room that everything else feels like supporting cast. If you came for Sangiovese depth, you found your place — if you wanted range across Italy, you may leave wanting.
By-the-glass options are not documented in our source data, so we can't tell you what's pouring or at what price. Given the bottle list's Tuscan tunnel vision, we'd expect the glass program to follow suit — likely a handful of Sangiovese-forward pours. Worth asking the server what's open.
The Bottom Line
Antica Posta earns a Wild Card for doing one thing with genuine conviction: assembling a Brunello di Montalcino selection that most Atlanta restaurants wouldn't attempt. It's not a balanced list, pricing data is opaque, and if you're looking for Barolo, Champagne, or anything outside Tuscany, you'll be reaching. But if you want to drink serious Sangiovese — Poggio di Sotto, Fuligni, Marroneto — in a room that clearly cares about it, this is the place to do it.

Glenn's Kitchen is a hotel bar wine list doing exactly what hotel bar wine lists do — keeping guests comfortable and margins healthy. The Luigi Pira Nebbiolo is a genuine bright spot worth seeking out, but this isn't a destination for wine. If you're staying at The Glenn or grabbing dinner nearby, you won't suffer — just go in with expectations set accordingly.

Midtown · Atlanta · Fine Dining
Prime on Peachtree has a wine list that's doing the bare minimum dressed up in fine-dining clothes. The markups are steep, the variety is thin once you strip out the duplicates, and the red wine section barely exists. If you're here for a special occasion, the Cave de Lugny is your honest move; everything else on the list is priced for the room, not for you.

Café Lapin keeps it simple and mostly gets it right — a compact, French-leaning list with fair prices and a few genuinely smart picks tucked in. We'd send a friend here for wine without hesitation, especially if they're willing to venture past the California Chardonnays and into what this list actually does well.

Blackjack Bar Tapas runs one of the smallest wine lists we've come across in Atlanta, but it's hard to fully roast it — the four picks are genuinely considered. The markups are a little stiff across the board, and if you're hoping for a Spanish red to wash down your tapas, you're out of luck. But if you want a glass of zero-dosage Cava or an Oregon Pinot Gris at a bar that clearly has a point of view, this list delivers more than it has any right to.

Eight Sushi Lounge is a Wild Card for a reason: the ambition is real, even if the execution is uneven. The whites punch above their weight for this format, the Etna Bianco is a genuine find, and fifteen glass pours gives you room to explore without committing to a bottle. But the markup is steep across the board, the red selection is thin below the splurge tier, and dropping $450–$490 on Opus One in a sushi lounge is a leap of faith we wouldn't personally take. Come for the glass pours, leave the black card in your wallet.

Restaurant 356 is a quietly confident wine list that earns more respect the longer you look at it. The Alsatian whites and German reds alone make it worth a visit for anyone tired of the same 10 bottles that show up everywhere in Atlanta. We'd send a friend here specifically to drink the Carl Ehrhard Spätburgunder and feel smug about it.

Decatur · Decatur · Italian
Avellino's earns its stripes as a Decatur pizza institution, but the wine program is a blind spot we can't responsibly rate in detail — the data simply isn't there. Come for the Tutta Guarnita, grab a beer or a soft drink, and save the serious wine drinking for somewhere that cares about the glass as much as the crust.

Gianni & Mac's has a focused, Italian-forward white wine list that punches above its weight in regional authenticity — the Frascati and Etna Bianco alone justify a closer look. The sparkling section is bloated and the markups get steep at the top end, but if you stick to the Italian whites you'll drink well without feeling robbed. Send a friend here for the food and tell them to ask about the Etna Bianco.

Borgo Italia isn't a destination wine list, but it's a thoughtful one for what it is — a cozy neighborhood trattoria in Senoia with an Italian regional focus that respects the food on the plate. If you're here for the Lasagna or Saltimbocca alla Romana, there's likely something on that list to make dinner feel complete. We'd send a friend here for a good meal with an honest glass of wine, no hesitation.
