Beer Hall With a Decent Wine Backup Plan

Wingman Metrics
The wine list at Yard House is exactly what you'd expect from a place whose identity is built around 100+ draft beers — it exists, it's functional, and it's not going to surprise you. You're surrounded by sports screens and the faint pulse of classic rock, and the wine menu reads like a greatest hits compilation of brands you've seen at every chain restaurant from here to Tampa. That's not a death sentence, but it's a clear signal about priorities.
The list runs 30 to 50 bottles deep and leans heavily on California with some token Pacific Northwest and international representation thrown in for range. What you get are the reliable grocery store darlings — Kim Crawford, Meiomi, Josh Cellars, La Marca — all perfectly drinkable, none particularly interesting. There's no real exploration here: no grower Champagne, no Rhône varieties, no funky domestic producers worth hunting down. If you came hoping to find something from a small Oregon producer or a left-field Italian, you're going to be disappointed.
The glass pour program runs a solid 12 to 20 options, which is genuinely respectable for a beer-first concept — you won't be stuck choosing between two sad options. The selections mirror the bottle list though, so expect the same recognizable labels rotating through. There's no real evidence of a curated or frequently updated BTG program; it feels more like a static snapshot than a living list.
Kim Crawford Sauvignon Blanc — $10
It's ubiquitous for a reason — clean, citrusy, and crowd-proof. At typical Yard House glass pricing it's not a steal, but it's the most honest transaction on the list and it actually works with the lighter menu items.
La Marca Prosecco
Most people at Yard House are drinking beer or cocktails, which means the Prosecco gets ignored. Order it by the glass while everyone else debates IPAs — it's bright, low-commitment, and genuinely refreshing in a loud, warm sports bar environment.
Josh Cellars Cabernet Sauvignon
Josh Cabernet is a $12 retail bottle that routinely gets poured for $14–$16 a glass at chain restaurants. You're paying a 4x markup for something you could grab at Safeway on the way home. Pass.
Meiomi Pinot Noir + Poke Nachos
Meiomi's soft, fruit-forward style and low tannins don't fight with the soy-sesame flavors in the Poke Nachos the way a bigger red would. It's a lighter red that plays nicely with fish and umami-heavy sauces without overpowering the dish.
✔️ The Bottom Line
Yard House is a beer destination that happens to serve wine, and the list reflects that ordering of priorities. If you're here for the game, the nachos, and a glass of something familiar, it works fine — just don't expect the wine program to be a reason to show up.
Westgate Entertainment District · Glendale · American gastropub / bar & grill
Bar Louie Westgate is a perfectly fine place to drink beer and watch a game — the wine list is an afterthought and everyone involved seems to know it. If wine is your thing, order a cocktail and come back to the wine conversation at a different restaurant.

Arrowhead Ranch / Union Hills · Glendale · Wine Bar
Turquoise Wine Bar is the kind of place that earns its Wild Card badge honestly — not by being weird for weird's sake, but by curating a genuinely curious list in a zip code that didn't ask for one. Send your wine-curious friends here; they'll leave with something new to talk about.

Maggiano's Westgate is perfectly fine for a glass of wine with dinner — just don't come expecting the list to match the ambition of the kitchen. If wine is actually important to your night, this probably isn't your destination.
