Wingman Metrics
Walking into DeLille Cellars' restaurant feels like someone finally answered the question: what if a great winery just... fed you too? The list skews heavily toward the estate's own Bordeaux-style lineup, but the supporting cast β Quilceda Creek, Leonetti, Cayuse β signals that whoever built this list has serious Pacific Northwest credibility. It's focused, not exhaustive, and that's the right call.
The list runs 150-250 bottles, which hits a sweet spot between overwhelming and underwhelming. Washington State is the clear anchor, with DeLille's own heavyweights β Chaleur Estate, Harrison Hill, D2, Doyenne β sharing space with some of the region's most respected names: Quilceda Creek, Leonetti Cellar, and Cayuse Vineyards. California gets a seat at the table via Opus One and Shafer Vineyards, while France and Oregon (Domaine Drouhin) round out the international presence. Gaps exist β if you're hunting for anything outside the Bordeaux-RhΓ΄ne lane, you'll find slim pickings β but within its lane, this list punches well above its weight.
With 12-20 pours ranging from $14-$28, the by-the-glass program is generous enough to let you work through DeLille's lineup without committing to a full bottle β which is kind of the whole point of being here. The D2, DeLille's approachable Bordeaux blend, almost certainly anchors the pour list, and that's a solid entry point for anyone curious about the estate. Rotation appears limited, but when your house wines are this good, standing still isn't the worst sin.
DeLille Cellars D2 β $60
DeLille's entry-level Bordeaux blend drinks well above its price point β Columbia Valley fruit with real structure β and at the low end of this list's range, it's the move for anyone who wants the DeLille experience without the Harrison Hill price tag.
Domaine Drouhin Oregon
Most people come here for Washington Cab blends and never look left. The Domaine Drouhin Oregon is a pinot from one of Burgundy's most respected houses making wine in the Willamette Valley β it's a completely different animal on this list and worth every bit of attention.
Opus One
Opus One is a fine wine, but you're in Woodinville wine country surrounded by DeLille's own estate bottles and some of Washington's best producers. Ordering Opus One here is like going to a great taco truck and ordering the hot dog.
DeLille Cellars Doyenne + Steak Frites
Doyenne is DeLille's Syrah-led RhΓ΄ne-style blend β dark fruit, savory edge, enough structure to cut through the fat. Against steak frites, it's the kind of match that makes the food taste better and the wine taste better, which is the only pairing metric that matters.
π² The Bottom Line
The Restaurant at DeLille Cellars is a genuine wild card in the best sense β a winery restaurant that earns its Wine Spectator nod with a focused, smart list anchored by some of Washington's most celebrated producers. If you're anywhere near Woodinville, this is worth the reservation.
