The wine list at The Reef lands exactly where you'd expect for a lively beachfront seafood spot on the Gulf — familiar labels, no surprises, priced to move. It's not trying to be a wine destination, and honestly, it doesn't need to be. The ocean is right there.
The list runs about 20-40 bottles and leans hard into California and New Zealand, which means you're looking at crowd-pleasers like Kim Crawford, Josh Cellars, and Meiomi as your core options. There's no real regional diversity to speak of — no Albariño, no Muscadet, nothing that screams 'I was chosen specifically because oysters are on the menu.' That said, the bottles that are here are solid, recognizable, and priced within reason, topping out around $70. It's a wine list designed for people who already know what they want, not one meant to push you somewhere new.
Six to ten pours by the glass at $8–$14 keeps things accessible, and the glass program mirrors the bottle list — expect Kim Crawford Sauvignon Blanc and Meiomi Pinot Noir to be your primary options. There's no rotation to speak of, so what you see is what you get, week after week. For a casual seafood joint, that's fine — the price point is low enough that you're not getting burned.

At $8 a glass, this is the move for a round of oysters on the half shell. Crisp, citrusy, and widely available enough that you know exactly what you're getting — no gamble, no disappointment.
Oyster Bay Sauvignon Blanc
Most people reach for Kim Crawford on autopilot, but Oyster Bay is quietly the sharper, more mineral-driven pour of the two New Zealand Sauvignon Blancs on this list — worth asking for specifically if you want something with a little more edge.
Josh Cellars Chardonnay
Josh Cellars Chardonnay is everywhere, and not for reasons that should make you feel good about ordering it. Heavily marketed, aggressively oaked, and not particularly suited to fried seafood. Pass on this and put that glass money toward another round of Kim Crawford.
Kim Crawford Sauvignon Blanc + Oysters
Briny Gulf oysters and a cold glass of Kim Crawford is practically the same equation every time — the wine's citrus and herbaceous snap cuts right through the salinity and keeps your palate ready for the next one.
