Wingman Metrics
The wine list here is exactly one page long and makes no apologies for it. You're sitting on the edge of Lake Geneva watching the water, and the list reflects that energy — relaxed, unpretentious, built for easy drinking rather than deep exploration. Ten labels, ten by-the-glass pours, and a price ceiling of $15. We can work with that.
Don't come here expecting an Old World rabbit hole or a natural wine section — this list was built for the vacation crowd who wants a glass of red with their Friday fish fry and doesn't want to overthink it. California dominates, with Sean Minor showing up twice (Chardonnay and a Red Blend), plus an Ethos Cab and a Cooper & Thief Barrel Aged Cabernet for the oak-forward crowd. There's a nod to Argentina with the Terrazas Malbec, Italy via Benvolio Pinot Grigio and Gran Passione Prosecco, Germany with a Dr. Pauly Riesling, and New Zealand through the Archetype Sauvignon Blanc. The gaps are real — no Burgundy, no Rosé, nothing older than a recent vintage — but what's here is cohesive and genuinely drinkable for a lakeside lounge setting.
Every bottle on the list is available by the glass, which is the whole program — there's no separate BTG menu, the list IS the BTG menu. Pours run $11 to $15, which is honest money for a waterfront hotel setting where a $20 glass would be entirely plausible. Rotation appears nonexistent; this list reads like it hasn't changed since the last menu reprint.
Dr. Pauly Riesling — $12
Germany's Mosel region in a glass at a Wisconsin lakeside bar for $12 — this is the quiet overachiever on the list. Dr. Pauly makes wines with real tension and minerality that punch above their category. Most people at this bar will order the Cab. Let them.
Archetype Sauvignon Blanc
New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc gets eye-rolls from the serious crowd, but Archetype makes a clean, lifted version with real citrus drive that's practically built for a warm lakeside evening. It's the most food-friendly white on the list and almost nobody orders it.
Cooper & Thief Cabernet
The barrel-aged gimmick adds marketing language but not much else. At $13 it's not a rip-off, but it's the least interesting bottle on the list — sweet, heavy, and designed to impress people who judge wine by how it sounds when you describe it. The Sean Minor Red Blend does the same job with less theater.
Terrazas Malbec + Friday Night Fish Fry
Counterintuitive, but the Terrazas Malbec's softer tannins and dark fruit don't steamroll the fried perch the way a bigger Cab would. It's the kind of pairing that sounds wrong on paper and works at the table — especially after your second glass.
The Bottom Line
The Geneva Inn Lounge isn't a wine destination, and it doesn't need to be — it's a waterfront spot with honest pours, fair prices, and a list that gets the job done without embarrassing anyone. Send your friends here for sunset drinks, not for a deep-dive tasting.

The Abbey Resort is a beautiful property, and the Yacht Club dining room presumably delivers on atmosphere and food. The wine list, however, is a nine-bottle shrug — steep markups on familiar labels with no depth, no rotation, and no apparent curation. Order a cocktail or a beer and save the wine conversation for somewhere that's having it.

Apple Barn Orchard & Winery isn't trying to compete with your favorite natural wine bar, and it doesn't need to. It's a tight, honest, hyper-local fruit wine program priced like it wants you to actually buy a bottle — or three. If you're in Lake Geneva and open-minded about what wine can be, it's worth the stop.

The Boathouse at Pier 290 has a wine list that does the job without doing much else — familiar producers, California-heavy, built for the path of least resistance. If you're coming for the setting and want something easy and recognizable to drink, you'll be fine. If wine is the point of your evening, you'll want to look elsewhere.

Turf. Kitchen + Tap looks like a solid resort wine program — broad enough geographically to suggest some genuine effort, casual enough in setting that nobody's going to quiz you on your order. We'd feel comfortable sending a friend here for a relaxed dinner with a decent glass of wine, but we'd stop short of calling it a destination for the list itself. Come for the views and the Choriqueso; the wine will take care of itself.

Crafted Americana's wine program is resort-standard in the fullest sense: recognizable, priced for convenience, and unlikely to generate any complaints or any real excitement. If you're at The Ridge for the weekend and want a solid glass of Cab with your prime rib, you'll be fine — just don't come expecting a discovery.
