Wingman Metrics
A wine bar in Green Bay holding a Wine Spectator Award of Excellence since 2020 β that alone earns a raised eyebrow and a second look. The Bottle Room lands in upscale-casual territory: the kind of place where you can linger over a cheese board without feeling like you're being rushed out for a reservation. There's a real sommelier on staff, which in this market is genuinely surprising.
The list leans hard into California, and it doesn't pretend otherwise β this is Napa and Sonoma territory, with familiar names anchoring the program. Rombauer, Cakebread, Prisoner, Decoy, Meiomi β it's a crowd-pleasing California greatest-hits roster that will satisfy most tables without challenging anyone. What's missing is any real depth in old-world bottles or regional outliers, so don't come expecting a Burgundy deep-dive. But for what it is β an accessible, well-curated California-forward list in a mid-sized Midwest city β it does the job with more intention than most.
We don't have an exact count on the by-the-glass program, but with a resident sommelier and a half-price wine Tuesday, the bones of a real glass program are clearly here. The presence of La Crema and Meiomi at accessible price points suggests the pours are approachable without being lazy. We'd expect a rotating handful of options covering the California bases β Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Cab β with maybe a token rosΓ© thrown in.
La Crema Chardonnay β $34
La Crema is a legitimate Sonoma Coast Chardonnay with real winemaking behind it, and $34 at a wine bar is a fair ask. It won't blow your mind but it will not disappoint, and on a Tuesday that's $17.
Decoy Cabernet Sauvignon
Most people walk past Decoy because it's the 'affordable Duckhorn' and assume it's second-tier. They're wrong. At $42, you're getting a polished, food-friendly Napa Cab from a serious producer β order it with the charcuterie board and stop apologizing.
Prisoner Red Blend
At $75, The Prisoner is riding its reputation harder than its actual juice warrants at this point. It's a solid, rich blend, but the brand has gone mass-market and the price-to-pleasure ratio just doesn't justify it when Decoy is sitting right there for $33 less.
Rombauer Chardonnay + Seasonal Flatbread
Rombauer is rich, buttery, and full β it sounds like overkill but it matches perfectly with a flatbread that has any kind of roasted or caramelized element. The weight holds up to toppings, and the oak doesn't clash. Classic Green Bay move, honestly.
Tuesday β Half-price wine night every Tuesday β the single best reason to eat out in Green Bay on a weeknight.
π² The Bottom Line
The Bottle Room is the best wine bar Green Bay probably didn't know it needed β a legit sommelier, fair California pricing, and half-price bottles on Tuesdays make this a genuine destination. If you're not from Green Bay and you find yourself there on a Tuesday, fix your schedule and make it here.
Beacon Hill Β· Boston Β· American, Small Plates
1928 Beacon Hill is exactly what a Beacon Hill neighborhood spot should be on wine β honest, Italy-forward, and priced fairly enough that you won't feel the sting. It's not a destination list, but it's a very good reason not to skip the wine.

Grapes in a Glass is the kind of place that has no business being this good in a mid-size Ohio city, and we mean that as the highest compliment. If you're in Canton and you care about what's in your glass, this is your only stop.

The Living Room isn't trying to reinvent wine β it's trying to make California Cab and Chardonnay feel like an event, and it mostly succeeds. Send your friends here for a comfortable, well-staffed wine experience; just remind them to drink the Duckhorn.
