Walk into Tennessee Avenue Beer Hall and the vibe is instantly clear: this place is about craft beer, communal tables, and good times near the boardwalk. The wine list feels like an afterthought — a short roster of recognizable California names that someone assembled to have *something* on the menu for the non-beer drinkers in the group. It's not offensive, but it's not trying very hard either.
Four wines is not a wine list — it's a wine suggestion. What's here skews heavily California, with a token Washington state entry in the Mullan Road Cabernet. Cakebread Cellars dominates, which tells you the strategy: lean on names people recognize from Costco and feel safe. The Bezel Wines Pinot Noir from San Luis Obispo Coast is the lone sign of any curiosity, but one interesting bottle does not a thoughtful list make. No Italian, no French, no sparkling, no rosé — for a lively social spot that clearly draws a broad crowd, those are glaring omissions.

No price confirmed, but the Bezel Pinot is the only bottle on this list with any genuine personality — SLO Coast Pinot punches above its weight and this is the one we'd reach for here. If the price is reasonable, it's the easy call.

Most people at a beer hall are going to gravitate toward something familiar, which means this Washington Cab — from a solid Columbia Valley program — will get overlooked. It's a quieter pick but a legitimate one for anyone who wants some structure in their glass.
Cakebread Cellars Chardonnay Reserve Carneros 2022
Cakebread is fine wine, but Reserve Carneros Chardonnay at restaurant markup in a beer hall is almost certainly going to run you well over what it's worth in this context. You can find this bottle on a shelf for $45-$50 — expect to pay significantly more here for no particular reason.
Bezel Wines Pinot Noir San Luis Obispo Coast 2024 + Smash Burger
SLO Coast Pinot has enough fruit and acidity to cut through a smash burger's fat without competing with it — it's the rare red that works with casual American food without feeling like you're trying too hard.
