You walk into what looks like a casual pizza and beer hall — live music posters, communal tables, the whole thing — and then you notice the wine list is pulling from Patricia Green and Roederer Estate. That's not an accident. Someone here actually thought about this, which is more than you can say for most places that lead with craft beer.
Six labels is a short list, but in Newberg — the heart of Willamette Valley wine country — they've made smart choices. Patricia Green is one of the better names in Oregon, full stop. Erath is the crowd-pleaser anchor, King Estate brings the Pinot Gris credibility, and Roederer Estate bubbles add a touch of class to a room that probably sells more pints than pours. The Canas Feast Red Blend and Guild Rosé round things out as approachable, unpretentious options. There are zero bottles from outside the Pacific Northwest orbit and no real depth in red variety, but for what this place is, the curation punches above its weight class.
Everything on the list is available by the glass, all six of them, ranging from $9 to $12. That's an absurdly reasonable price range for a town surrounded by tasting rooms charging $25 a pour. Rotation doesn't appear to be a priority — this looks like a stable, set-it-and-leave-it program — but at these prices, it's hard to complain.
Roederer Estate Sparkling — $11
Roederer Estate is a legitimately good California sparkling wine made by the same house behind Cristal. Eleven dollars a glass for that pedigree, in a pizza hall, is genuinely hard to beat. Order it before someone figures out they're undercharging.
Canas Feast Red Blend
Most people are going to reach for the Erath Pinot Noir because the name is familiar, but the Canas Feast Red Blend at $10 is the sleeper. It's a more interesting pour for the price, and it holds up better against the fatty, salty realities of pizza night.
Erath Pinot Noir
Erath is fine — perfectly drinkable — but it's also the most default, widely distributed Oregon Pinot Noir on the planet. You're in Newberg. You're surrounded by world-class Willamette Valley producers. Paying $12 for Erath here is like ordering a house salad at a great steakhouse.
Patricia Green Sauvignon Blanc + Pizza
Patricia Green's Sauvignon Blanc has enough brightness and acid to cut through cheese and cut the richness of a loaded pizza slice. It keeps things lively without fighting the food, and at $12 a glass you can have two and still feel like you made a responsible decision.
🎲 The Bottom Line
Social Goods is not a wine destination, but it's a wildly pleasant surprise — a pizza and beer joint in the middle of Oregon wine country that's actually paying attention to the glass pours. At these prices, with these producers, it earns a visit even if you came just for the trivia night.

Varnum Vintners is the kind of small Oregon producer tasting room that rewards curious drinkers willing to lean into something a little different — primarily bubbles, zero pretension, and prices that won't make you wince. Jay's is a perfectly decent neighborhood hangout where wine is an afterthought — and that's fine, except you're in Newberg, Oregon, surrounded by world-class Pinot Noir producers who'd love to be on a list like this. If you're here for the wings and a cold drink, you're in the right place; if you came for the wine, you took a wrong turn about three exits back.

The Allison's bar and lounge is doing something genuinely rare: a grower Champagne program deep enough to anchor a dedicated wine bar, bolted onto a luxury hotel in the Willamette Valley. If you're anywhere near Newberg, this is worth the detour — ideally timed to the 2 p.m. Happy Hour.

Come here for the golf, the views, and a cold beer after your round — the wine list is an afterthought in one of America's great wine regions, and that's a shame. If you must order wine, grab the Rainstorm Pinot and appreciate the irony of drinking Oregon on an Oregon golf course while a hundred better bottles go unpoured nearby.
