Caymus Cabernet Sauvignon
Caymus is everywhere, and it's everywhere for a reason — it's lush, approachable, and easy to sell. But at steakhouse markup it becomes a $90+ bottle that retails for $85 and has been produced at a scale that left 'special' in the rearview mirror years ago. You can do better on this list for the money.
Jordan Cabernet Sauvignon + Ribeye Steak
Jordan's structured tannins and dark fruit profile have the backbone to stand up to a well-marbled ribeye without overwhelming it. It's a classic combo that works because the wine has enough weight to match the meat without turning the whole thing into a tannin wrestling match.
