You walk in expecting a cortado and a scone, and then there's Quady North Syrah sitting on the menu like it has something to prove. For a neighborhood coffee shop in Ashland's Railroad District, the wine list is a genuine surprise — small, sure, but someone made actual choices here instead of just phoning it in with a generic house red and white.
Three labels is not a wine list, it's a wine selection — and we mean that as a compliment, barely. What saves it is that all three come from Quady North or a local sparkling producer, signaling real regional intent. Quady North is a legitimate Southern Oregon winery with a serious reputation for Rhône-style wines, so having their Syrah and Pistoleta (a GSM-style red) here is more credible than you'd expect from a place whose main job is pulling espresso shots. The Dolcedo Sparkling rounds it out with some fizz. There's zero depth, no white wine to speak of, and no real range — but what's here was chosen with intent.
All three wines pour by the glass, which means the entire list is available without committing to a bottle — smart for a café format where you might just want a single pour with your charcuterie board. Three options is tight, but it's three more than most coffee shops in America are offering.
Quady North Syrah — $
Quady North makes genuinely good Southern Oregon Syrah with dark fruit and savory character. Getting it in a casual café pour at café prices is a solid deal for wine that would cost you considerably more at a dedicated wine bar.
Quady North Pistoleta
Most people coming in for coffee will default to whatever red sounds familiar. The Pistoleta is a GSM-style blend that flies under the radar here but represents some of the more interesting winemaking happening in the Applegate Valley — worth the detour from your usual order.
Dolcedo Sparkling Wine
Without any pricing detail or producer context, the sparkling is the biggest question mark on an already thin list. In a café setting without proper temperature control for bubbly, it's the riskiest order — and sparkling wine served slightly too warm in a casual glass is a fast way to ruin the experience.
Quady North Syrah + Pastries and baked goods
It's an odd match on paper, but a savory, peppery Syrah against a buttery, flaky pastry in the afternoon is a very European way to spend a Tuesday. The wine's structure cuts through the richness while the café vibe makes the whole thing feel appropriately low-stakes.

You're not coming to Rogue Valley Roasting Company for a wine-focused evening — but if you're in Ashland, want a glass of legit local wine without the prix-fixe atmosphere, and don't mind that the list tops out at three options, this is a surprisingly honest little pour stop. Send a friend here? Sure, if they need a break from the Shakespeare crowd.
