Wingman Metrics
The name sets expectations and the list mostly delivers — this is a place that actually takes wine seriously in a city where that's rarer than it should be. The menu reads like someone did their homework on global regions without trying too hard to be a wine nerd destination. It's social, it's buzzy, and the list is long enough to feel like an event.
The backbone here is French and Californian, with Rhône Valley reds and Châteauneuf-du-Pape anchoring the serious end of the list. Italy and Spain show up with enough presence to give you options, and there's a respectable New World thread running through California Cabernet territory. The list is broad rather than deep — you're not going to find esoteric growers or single-vineyard obsessions, but you'll have more than enough to pick something genuinely interesting. Gaps show up in lighter reds and anything particularly adventurous on the white or orange end.
The by-the-glass program is one of the stronger selling points here — multiple reds, whites, and sparkling options all in that $9–$14 range, which is fair for downtown Annapolis. Rotation appears limited and the list reads more curated-and-locked than actively refreshed, but the sheer count of options means most tables will find something that works. Sparkling by the glass is a nice touch that a lot of comparable spots skip entirely.
Rhône Valley Red (by the glass) — $12
At the lower end of their glass pour range, the Rhône reds consistently overdeliver relative to price — earthy, structured, and a better value than the equivalent California pour at a similar price point.
Châteauneuf-du-Pape
Most people at a bistro like this default to the California Cab, but the CdP is the move — it's a genuine Southern Rhône with complexity most people don't expect from a spot better known for its pizza and vibe than its cellar.
California Cabernet Sauvignon
At $55 a bottle on a wine that retails around $30, you're paying an 83% markup for the privilege of drinking something you could find at any Total Wine. The CdP earns its price; this one doesn't.
Châteauneuf-du-Pape + Truffle Pizza
The earthiness and dark fruit in a CdP is practically designed for truffle — the garrigue and spice in the wine echo the umami of the truffle without getting bulldozed by it the way a heavier Cab would.

Red Red Wine Bar is the kind of place Annapolis needs more of — a genuinely wine-forward spot with a list long enough to reward some exploration. The markups take a bite and the staff won't blow your mind, but for a downtown pour before or after a night on the water, this is your spot.

Davis' Pub is a great place to drink — just not wine. The list is inoffensive and priced fairly, but it exists as an afterthought in a place where the real action is cold drafts and steamed crabs. Order the Brancott if you must, then pivot to beer.
