Wingman Metrics
Perry's arrives with a 70-label list that looks ambitious on paper but plays it very safe once you dig in. This is a steakhouse wine program engineered to please a broad corporate expense account crowd — recognizable names, plenty of California, and very little that will surprise you. That's not a crime, but it's worth knowing what you're walking into.
The list leans heavily California, with Sonoma and Monterey doing most of the heavy lifting on both reds and whites. There's a light international presence — the Marqués de Cáceres Tempranillo from Rioja and the Domaines Barons de Rothschild Lafite 'Les Légendes' Bordeaux blend add some Old World credibility, but they feel like token gestures rather than a genuine commitment to European wine. Sparkling has a solid spread from Carnissi Prosecco all the way up to Perry's own Reserve Premier Cru Champagne sourced from Chigny-les-Roses, which is a real Premier Cru village — points for that. The private-label Perry's Reserve bottles (Chardonnay, Rosé, Champagne) are curious additions that could be smart plays or filler depending on quality.
Thirty-seven by-the-glass options is genuinely impressive and the clear strength of this program. The price floor starts at $9.50/glass for the Dr. Loosen 'Dr. L' Riesling, which is a real wine, and runs up to $30/glass for the Perry's Reserve Premier Cru Champagne. The range means you're not stuck ordering a bottle to drink something decent, which we appreciate at a steakhouse where wine choices often feel forced.
The Bottom Line
Perry's is a competent steakhouse wine program that won't embarrass you, but it won't thrill you either. The by-the-glass breadth is the real story here — 37 options gives you room to explore without committing to a bottle. Just don't come expecting adventurous picks or fair markups across the board; come expecting a list that gets the job done for a celebratory dinner without too much fuss.

· Austin · Seafood Steakhouse
Truluck's Austin runs a by-the-glass program that genuinely outperforms what most standalone seafood houses manage, with producers like Markus Molitor and Drouhin-Vaudon sitting next to the expected California lineup. Pricing is fair without being flashy. If you're eating seafood and want to drink well without committing to a bottle, this list has you covered — just work through the whites and bubbles and don't let the Napa trophy bottles at the top drain your wallet.

Eddie V's is a reliable wine destination in the sense that a well-pressed suit is reliable — it won't let you down, but it won't make anyone's year-end list either. If you're on a date, celebrating something, or just need a wine program that won't embarrass you in front of a client, this is a safe and comfortable call. Just don't expect to find anything that makes you pull out your phone to take a note.

Fogo de Chão Austin is not a destination wine list, but it's a legitimately fair one — South American focus, honest prices, and a couple of genuine steals hiding in plain sight. If you're here for the espeto corrido experience, grab a VIK blend at $30 and don't overthink it.

Sammie's is a genuinely fun room with a wine list that's earned its Wine Spectator hardware — the Italian depth is real, the sommelier knows her stuff, and Monday half-price bottles might be the best deal in Austin. Just go in knowing the markups lean steep, and let Jenny point you toward the plays that aren't on the tourist track.

Ciclo is a reliable, well-run California-centric wine program that does exactly what it says on the menu — it just charges you for the privilege. If you're here for the steakhouse experience and want a Cab that won't embarrass you, Joe Pena's list delivers. Just don't expect to be surprised.

Riverwalk · San Antonio · Steakhouse
Brenner's on the Riverwalk punches above the average tourist-strip steakhouse — 159 labels with real dessert wine depth and some genuine international range is nothing to dismiss. Pricing is likely steep given the location, and the list skews traditional, but if you know what you're looking for, there's something worth ordering here. Go in with a plan, skip the obvious bottles, and don't leave without looking at the dessert wine section.

· Las Vegas · Steakhouse
Strip House's all-by-the-glass format is smart for a Vegas crowd that wants to explore without committing, and the list has more personality than most hotel steakhouses — the Testamatta and the Lingua Franca Chardonnay prove someone made actual choices here. Prices skew high at the top end, but the $15–$25 tier offers genuine quality. Come for the steak, stay for the glass pours, and skip the Kosta Browne unless the night calls for it.

· Boston · Steakhouse
The Palm Boston's wine list reads like someone handed a natural wine buyer a steakhouse budget and said 'do something interesting' — and they did, with six well-chosen bottles at prices that won't wreck your evening. It's too small to call it a destination for wine, but it's too good to ignore if you're already here for dinner. Ask about what's available by the glass and go straight for the Crochet Sancerre.
