Wingman Metrics
We hit a wall trying to dig into NoDa Company Store's wine program — and not in a good, 'hidden speakeasy' way. The lack of any visible wine intel suggests this spot either doesn't prioritize wine at all, or keeps their program so under wraps it might as well not exist. In a neighborhood known for craft beer and art galleries, that's not entirely surprising, but it's also not helping anyone drink better.
Without a published list or staff who can speak to what's in the cellar, we're flying blind here. Based on the NoDa vibe and similar spots in the area, we'd expect a short, safe list leaning heavily on California Cabs, maybe a Malbec, and a token Pinot Grigio. No depth, no regional exploration, just the usual suspects you'd find at a corner grocery store. If there's something interesting hiding in there, they're doing a spectacular job of keeping it secret.
Your guess is as good as ours. We'd bet on three or four pours — a house red, a house white, maybe a sparkling option if you're lucky. Rotation seems unlikely given the general lack of wine focus. Expect standard 5-6 oz pours in whatever glass is clean, probably served at room temp regardless of varietal.
House Red (Likely California Blend) — $8
By default — it's probably the only thing not marked up to oblivion
Anything local from North Carolina
If they stock any NC wines, they'd be worth trying just to support regional producers — though we have zero confirmation any exist here
Any reserve Cabernet over $60
Without knowledgeable staff or proper storage, you're gambling on questionable provenance at a premium price
Local Beer Instead + Whatever Their Special Is
In NoDa's craft beer haven, skip the wine mystery and lean into what the neighborhood does best
The Bottom Line
We can't recommend what we can't verify. Until NoDa Company Store shows us a wine list worth talking about, stick with their beer program or head elsewhere in the neighborhood for your pour.

Chima is clearly a steakhouse that sells meat and uses wine as an afterthought. Order the beef, have a caipirinha, and save your wine enthusiasm for somewhere that returns the favor.

Caroline's isn't trying to be a wine destination — it's an oyster bar with California ambitions and prices that don't punish you for ordering well. Wednesday half-price wine night alone is worth putting in your rotation.

Supperland is a genuinely wild place to drink wine — stained glass overhead, a cast iron skillet on the table, and a bottle of Tignanello on the list. The markups aren't generous and no sommelier is guiding you, but if you know what you're looking for, this Wine Spectator-recognized list delivers for a Southern steakhouse in a church.

Sunnyside is a casual lodge restaurant wearing a serious wine list under its flannel — the markup is steep and it won't win any awards for staff expertise, but the producer lineup is legitimately impressive for where you're sitting. If you're already at the lake, this is absolutely worth ordering a real bottle.
