Wingman Metrics
The wine list at Morton's White Plains lands with the confidence of a chain that knows its clientele — big Napa Cabs, recognizable names, and prices that assume someone else is picking up the tab. It's a lot of wine on paper (300+), but flip through it and you'll notice the same zip code repeating itself. If you love California Cabernet, you're in exactly the right place.
The list is a Napa Valley greatest hits compilation, and it genuinely delivers on that premise — Caymus Special Selection, Opus One, Joseph Phelps Insignia, Continuum, Silver Oak, Paul Hobbs, and Nickel & Nickel all make appearances, and most of them are in solid vintages. There's a nod to Burgundy with the Albert Bichot Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru 2015 and the Domaine de Courcel Pommard 1er Cru 2016, plus Guigal's Brune et Blonde from Côte-Rôtie for the Rhône crowd. But that's about where the international ambition stops — don't come here hunting for anything from Spain, Germany, or anywhere south of France. The Shafer Relentless Syrah and Duckhorn Three Palms Merlot at least gesture toward something beyond Cab, but the list is unapologetically California-forward and makes no attempt to hide it.
The by-the-glass program runs 12 to 18 options, which is respectable for a steakhouse of this size. Expect the usual heavy hitters — Cakebread, Beringer Private Reserve, and their ilk — rotating through in a format that doesn't change much season to season. It's a Set & Forget program: reliable, not adventurous, and priced to match the room.
Chimney Rock, Stags Leap District Cabernet Sauvignon 2016 — null
In a list stacked with trophy bottles, Chimney Rock is the one that actually makes sense. Stags Leap District Cab at its best, from a strong vintage, and it tends to sit at a more accessible price point than its neighbors on the list. It's the bottle you order when you want to drink well without going full Opus One.
Domaine de Courcel 'Le Grand Clos des Epenots', Pommard 1er Cru 2016
Most people at Morton's are here for the Cab, and that means this Pommard 1er Cru from one of Burgundy's most undersung producers flies under the radar. Domaine de Courcel makes serious, cellar-worthy Pinot that has no business sitting next to a 24-oz ribeye — and yet it absolutely works. If you've only ever had California Pinot at a steakhouse, this is your sign.
Caymus Vineyards 'Special Selection', Napa Valley 2017
Caymus Special Selection is a fine wine that has been marked up to the point of absurdity at nearly every steakhouse in America, and Morton's is not the exception. You're paying for the label recognition. The wine itself doesn't justify the premium over what you could find at a good wine shop for significantly less. Order the Chimney Rock instead.
E. Guigal 'Brune et Blonde', Côte-Rôtie 2016 + Double-cut bone-in ribeye
Guigal's Brune et Blonde is one of the most food-friendly bottles on this list — Syrah-dominant with enough structure to stand up to the fat and char on a bone-in ribeye without bulldozing it. It's a break from the Napa Cab default and frankly a more interesting conversation at the table.
✔️ The Bottom Line
Morton's White Plains does exactly what Morton's is supposed to do: pour well-stored, recognizable California Cabernet at prices that sting a little, in a room that feels like it deserves them. If you want to go off-script, the Burgundy and Rhône options buried in the back of the list are worth the detour.
Main Street / Downtown · White Plains · Mediterranean / Rooftop Lounge
Mediterraneo is a solid rooftop spot where the vibe does a lot of heavy lifting and the wine list mostly keeps pace — just don't come looking for discovery or deals. Order the Assyrtiko, enjoy the view, and leave Whispering Angel for the table next to you.

Mulino's wine program does its job without embarrassing itself — it's the reliable Italian uncle of wine lists, never exciting but never a disaster. If someone else is paying, reach for the Brunello; if you're on your own dime, manage expectations and order accordingly.

Downtown White Plains · White Plains · Italian
Mulino's is a reliable restaurant wine list doing its job without embarrassing itself — fair prices, decent Italian representation, and enough by-the-glass options to find something that works. Don't come here expecting a deep cellar moment, but you won't be stuck drinking bad wine either.

City Center · White Plains · Asian, Chinese-inspired chain
P.F. Chang's White Plains is not a wine destination, but it's not a disaster either — come on a Wednesday when everything is half off and suddenly a $40 Coppola Pinot at $20 feels like a reasonable night out. Any other night, manage your expectations and stick to the glass pours.

Tarrytown Road / Westchester Avenue junction · White Plains · American Diner
City Limits Diner is a great spot for a satisfying all-day meal in White Plains, but the wine list exists purely as a formality — overpriced pours of familiar labels with almost no curation or care. Order a cocktail, enjoy the crab cake, and save the serious bottle for somewhere that earned it.

Francesco's isn't a wine destination, but it's an honest neighborhood Italian with fair prices and enough on the list to drink well without stressing about it. If you go in expecting solid comfort over discovery, you'll leave happy.

River Grille is a solid place to eat a steak in Bentonville, but the wine program — at least what we can verify — stops at dessert and Port while the main event stays in the dark. Order a cocktail with dinner and, if you must, grab a glass of Tawny at the end.

Casino Fandango Steakhouse delivers a wine list that's safe, California-centric, and marked up the way casino restaurants tend to be. It's not a destination for wine lovers, but if you're already here for the prime cuts, Jordan Cab and a good steak will sort you out just fine.

STK Denver is a place where wine exists to support a vibe, not to excite a drinker. If you're here for the scene and the steak, grab a glass of Bonanza at happy hour and call it a night — but don't come expecting the wine list to be part of the experience.
