First Impression
MiraMare's wine list leans into safe Italian-American territory — the kind of selections that won't surprise anyone but won't offend either. The list feels like it was set years ago and left on autopilot, with pricing that reflects Naples real estate more than actual bottle value.
Selection Deep Dive
The Italian focus is predictable: Tuscan Chiantis, Piedmont Barolos at markup, and a handful of Pinot Grigios that could be from anywhere. We'd expect some deeper regional cuts — maybe a Nerello Mascalese from Etna or an Aglianico from Campania — but the list plays it safe with recognizable names. French and California sections exist to check boxes, with the usual Napa Cabs and Burgundy standbys priced like they're funding a yacht club membership. Nothing wrong here, just nothing exciting.
By the Glass
Glass pours likely stick to the basics: a Pinot Grigio, a Chianti, maybe a Prosecco if you're feeling festive. The rotation seems frozen in time, with no seasonal shifts or staff-driven discoveries. Fine for a quick pour, but don't expect anyone behind the bar to geek out with you about what's new.
Antinori 'Santa Cristina' Chianti Superiore — $48
Reliable Tuscan red that drinks well with red sauce without breaking the bank
Feudi di San Gregorio Falanghina
If they stock this Campanian white, it's a refreshing break from endless Pinot Grigio
Any Napa Cab over $100
Naples markup on California reds is brutal — save these for retail
Planeta 'La Segreta' Rosso + Pappardelle Bolognese
Sicilian blend with enough structure for slow-cooked meat ragu without overpowering the pasta
✔️ The Bottom Line
MiraMare plays it safe with crowd-pleasing Italian wines at Naples-level markups. Not a destination for wine nerds, but solid enough if you're already here for the food and want a glass of something familiar.
