Wingman Metrics
The wine list at Meddys West is exactly nine bottles long — and every single one is $25. That flat pricing is either a stroke of casual genius or a sign that nobody spent much time thinking about this. We're leaning toward the latter.
Nine labels, all flatly priced at $25, and the roster reads like the shelf-talker section of a mid-tier grocery store: Cupcake, Starborough, Seaglass, Angeline. The one genuinely interesting bottle in the bunch is the Danzante Tuscan Red Blend — at least it nods at the Mediterranean theme on the food menu. Beyond that, we've got crowd-pleasing Federalist Cab, a Malbec from Alamos, and a Cupcake Moscato that wandered in from a bachelorette party. There are no regional surprises, no old-world depth, no producers that suggest anyone asked a wine rep any hard questions.
Everything on the list is available by the glass at $8, which is at least consistent. Nine pours, nine options, but the rotation appears to be permanent — this is a set-it-and-forget-it program with no evidence of seasonal swaps or anything new coming in.
Alamos Malbec — $25
At $25 a bottle, Alamos Malbec is a reliably drinkable Argentine red that punches above its price point. It's the most food-friendly wine on this list and the easiest to recommend without hesitation.
Danzante Tuscan Red Blend
It's the only wine on the list that actually matches the restaurant's Mediterranean identity. Most people will default to the Cab or the Malbec, but the Danzante is the sleeper pick here — grab it before you settle.
Cupcake Moscato
Sweet, simple, and built for a different occasion entirely. At a Mediterranean restaurant with savory, herb-forward food, this is a wine that has no business being your first — or last — choice.
Danzante Tuscan Red Blend + Mediterranean mezze plate
The Danzante's earthy, medium-bodied profile holds up against olives, hummus, and cured meats without overpowering anything on the table. It's the closest this list gets to a purposeful match.
The Bottom Line
Meddys West is here for the food, and the wine list knows it. If you're looking for something to wash down your meal without drama, the $8 glass is fine — just don't come here expecting the wine to be the point.

Sheet's Creek is a reliable pour in a landlocked city — nothing here will surprise a seasoned wine drinker, but it won't embarrass you either. Send your friends if they like California reds and don't want to think too hard about it.

First Mile Kitchen's wine list exists to check a box, not to enhance your meal. The pricing is honest and a few bottles are quietly decent, but if wine is important to your night out, you'll want to eat somewhere with more than eight options.

Prost isn't a wine destination — it's a biergarten that respects its theme enough to put a coherent German wine list on the table. The Thirsty Thursday bottle deal is legitimately good, and if you show up on the right night with the right dish, you'll leave happier than you expected.

The Belmont is a perfectly fine place to drink wine in Wichita — the Tuesday half-price bottle deal legitimately rescues the steep markups and makes it worth a visit. Just arrive with low expectations for discovery and high expectations for a good time.

Wasabi Hinkaku isn't a wine destination, but it doesn't pretend to be — and the pricing is honest enough to earn some respect. Show up on a Tuesday when the wine chiller special is running and you've got yourself a solid weeknight deal.

Cheddar's wine program is placeholder content — it checks the box and nothing more. Order a cocktail, a lemonade, or just embrace the sweet tea and move on.

Dametra is a lively Carmel institution that takes its bottle list more seriously than its casual vibe suggests — the markups sting, but the range is genuinely interesting and a few bottles here are worth seeking out. Send a friend who wants something special with dinner, just tell them to skip the Caymus.

Meridia has the setting, the concept, and the menu to deserve a genuinely interesting wine list — instead it serves up resort-hotel boilerplate at punishing markups. Order the paella, drink the cocktails, and save the serious wine for somewhere that cares.

Mediterranean Breeze is doing what it says on the tin — a relaxed room, recognizable bottles, and $6 glass pours that won't break anyone's budget. Skip the mid-tier markups, aim for Jordan or Kim Crawford, and you'll have a perfectly decent night.
