Wingman Metrics
You don't expect to find Krug Grand Cuvee and a Leindl Gruner Veltliner from Kremstal in a steakhouse north of Atlanta — and yet, here we are. The list runs 111 labels deep with 24 by-the-glass options, which is a serious commitment for this zip code. Meadow Grill is clearly trying harder than anyone in the surrounding area, and it mostly lands.
The white wine program is where this list earns its stripes: Suavia Monte Carbonare Soave Classico 2021, Domaine Christian Moreau Chablis 2023, and Olivier Leflaive Puligny-Montrachet 2022 are all legitimate producers that would feel at home on a wine bar menu in Buckhead. There's real range here — Austrian Gruner, Alsatian Viognier from Domaine Bott, two Chateauneuf-du-Pape Blancs, a Pascal Jolivet Sancerre, and a Granbazan Albarino that most suburban steakhouses wouldn't know how to spell. The Champagne section punches above its weight with Laurent-Perrier, Ruinart Blanc des Blancs, and Krug Grand Cuvee all making an appearance alongside the more expected Moet. The list has some curious gaps — we'd love to see more depth on the red side to match the ambition of the whites — but as a whole, this is a genuinely thoughtful program.
Twenty-four pours by the glass is a real number, and the range spans $13 to $43 per glass — enough runway for both the casual diner and the person who wants a Moet Brut Imperial ($24/glass) with their appetizer. The Mionetto Prosecco Superiore DOCG at $14/glass offers a reasonable entry point into the bubbles section. We'd want to know how often the selection rotates, but the raw count is impressive for the market.
The Bottom Line
Meadow Grill is doing something genuinely unusual for suburban North Georgia: building a wine list that would turn heads in the city. The whites are the star — Burgundy, Loire, Austria, Alsace, and two Chateauneuf Blancs under one roof — at prices that don't feel punitive. We'd send a wine-curious friend here without hesitation, with the caveat that the red program likely needs the same attention the whites have already received.
· Cumming, GA · German and European
Gasthaus Tirol isn't a wine bar, and nobody's driving from Atlanta for the list — but for a German restaurant in suburban Cumming, the wine program is legitimately thoughtful in spots. Fair prices across the board, every bottle available by the glass, and a handful of German-specific picks that actually match the menu make this a solid call if you're already there for the schnitzel. Order the Malbec or explore the Dornfelder and you'll leave happy.

· Cumming, GA · Italian
GrapeVine's Casual Italian is a solid neighborhood spot where the wine list won't blow your mind but also won't insult your wallet. If the Abruzzo regional thread holds up on the actual menu, there's a decent, food-friendly red waiting for you alongside the Baked Ziti or Chicken Pamplona. Check the menu directly before you go — this one earns its Reliable badge by doing the basics right.

Village Italian's wine list is a functional, inoffensive collection that gets the job done without doing anything interesting. The bottle prices are fair, the Italian selections are limited but present, and the single by-the-glass option is a real miss. Come for the pasta; don't come for the wine program.

YAVA is a craft beer joint that remembered wine drinkers exist, and it did a decent job of it. Not a wine destination, but if you're in Cumming and eating live-fire, you won't go thirsty or broke.

Lake Lanier / Lanier Islands · Cumming, GA · American bar and grill with seafood, chicken, and steak
The Twisted Oar is a genuinely fun lakefront spot, but the wine list is pure afterthought — nine bottles, five from the same budget Chilean producer, and nothing that reflects the effort the kitchen clearly puts into the food. Order the Wither Hills, enjoy the view, and don't expect more than that.

Wilderness Ridge is the kind of wine list that surprises you — not because it's perfect, but because it's genuinely curious for its genre and geography. The by-the-glass program alone makes it worth exploring, and the pricing doesn't punish you for doing so. If you're in Lincoln and want something interesting in the glass with your steak, this is a safe bet.

Parker's on Ponce is the wine list equivalent of a reliable shortstop — not flashy, not going to win any awards, but it won't cost you the game either. Pricing is fair for the format, the by-the-glass count is generous, and if you know where to look (Benton-Lane, the Briday Crémant), there are real wins to be had. Come for the steak, order smarter than the table next to you.

This is a wine program that exists only because restaurants are expected to have one. If you're at Sizzler Bakersfield, order a beer, a lemonade, or whatever they're mixing at the bar — the wine list is not the reason to be here, and it's not trying to be.
