For a fine-dining Italian spot tucked into a historic gulch in Montana's capital city, the wine list punches above its weight. Fifty-seven labels isn't sprawling, but the selection shows actual editorial intent — someone here is paying attention. The real kicker: every bottle on that list goes half-price on Wednesdays, which is either the best-kept secret in Helena or the best reason to move there.
The list leans into its Italian identity without becoming a one-note greatest-hits reel. You get approachable crowd favorites like Prendo Pinot Grigio alongside more serious Italian picks — Feudi di San Gregorio Falanghina from Campania, Vietti Nebbiolo, and a Damillano Barolo that shows someone actually thought about the Piedmont section. The California presence is workmanlike (Chalk Hill Chardonnay, Honig), and there are smart outliers in the Ingrid Groiss Grüner Veltliner from Austria and a Colene Clemens 'Margo' Pinot Noir from Oregon that signals genuine curiosity. Gaps exist — the red by-the-glass program isn't clearly communicated, and broader European coverage beyond Italy is thin — but for a small-room restaurant in Helena, this is a legitimately interesting list.
The visible by-the-glass whites are priced between $10.50 and $12.50, which is reasonable for the market and the quality level on offer. Seven options is a workable number for a room this size, though the red BTG situation is murky — the list isn't fully surfaced on the website, which means you may need to ask. That said, the Ingrid Groiss Grüner Veltliner appearing as a glass pour is a genuinely pleasant surprise for downtown Helena.

Most tables in a restaurant like this will order the Chardonnay or Pinot Grigio without a second glance. The Falanghina from Campania is the move — floral, textured, and built for seafood pasta in a way those safer picks simply aren't.
Honig Sauvignon Blanc, California 2023
At $48 a bottle, Honig is a perfectly fine wine — but it's also the kind of safe, recognizable label that gets marked up because people order it without thinking. You can find this at your local wine shop for considerably less, and there are more interesting choices on this list for the same money.
Costamolino Vermentino, Italy 2023 + Seafood pasta
Vermentino's saline edge and citrus brightness are practically engineered for briny, herb-forward seafood pasta. It cuts through the richness and keeps things lively through the whole bowl — don't overthink it.
