Wingman Metrics
The setting does a lot of the heavy lifting here — a lakeside perch in McKinney's Adriatica Village that makes any glass feel more romantic than it probably is. Open the wine list and you get exactly what you'd expect from a polished suburban seafood spot: familiar names, safe bets, nothing that's going to make you scramble for your phone to look something up. It's comfortable, which is either a feature or a bug depending on why you showed up.
The list runs 30 to 50 labels deep, anchored hard in California with some Pacific Northwest and French representation rounding things out. You'll clock Kendall-Jackson, Meiomi, Jordan, and Whispering Angel almost immediately — these are brands that move volume at restaurants nationwide, and Harry's leans into that without apology. There's nothing here from South America, Italy, Spain, or anywhere that might raise an eyebrow, which is a missed opportunity given how well old-world whites play against seafood. The Jordan Cabernet Sauvignon is the most serious bottle on the list, but at this price tier you're not finding anything that demands a second look.
Eight to fourteen pours by the glass is a workable range, and the $10–$18 window covers most of the usuals without venturing anywhere adventurous. Don't expect rotating selections or anything seasonal — what's on the list today is probably what was on it six months ago. It's a functional BTG program built for the crowd that already knows what they like.
Jordan Cabernet Sauvignon — $90
Jordan is the most credible bottle on this list — it's consistently made, widely respected, and holds up at the table. If you're splitting a bottle and ordering the filet, this is where your money goes.
Whispering Angel Rosé
Most people order it because it's trendy, but against a plate of crab cakes or grilled salmon it actually earns its keep. Ignore the Instagram reputation and focus on the food match — it works.
Kendall-Jackson Chardonnay
You can buy this at the grocery store for $14. Whatever they're charging here doesn't reflect any value add, and there's no compelling reason to order it in a restaurant setting when better options exist on the same list.
Whispering Angel Rosé + Crab Cakes
The rosé's dry, coastal-leaning profile cuts through the richness of the crab cakes without stepping on the sweetness of the crab. It's one of the more natural fits on this menu.
✔️ The Bottom Line
Harry's is a reliable neighborhood anchor for McKinney — the kind of place you bring out-of-town family without stressing about it. The wine list won't blow anyone's mind, but it won't embarrass you either; just steer clear of the grocery-store staples and lean toward the upper end of the bottle list.

BJ's McKinney is a beer destination with a wine list that exists mostly as a formality — the Wednesday half-price deal is the only reason to engage with it seriously. Come for the craft beer and the Pazookie; the wine is just along for the ride.

P.F. Chang's wine list won't win any awards, but it's doing exactly what it needs to do for a busy suburban dinner crowd. Don't come here for a wine experience — but don't write it off either, especially if you know what to order.

Saltgrass McKinney is a reliable spot for a Texas-style steak, but the wine list is clearly not why anyone is driving out here. Unless you're sticking to the J. Lohr Pinot or talking someone into splitting the Hampton Water, you're better off ordering a cocktail and calling it a night.

Blue Goose is a perfectly fun Tex-Mex night out — just don't come here for the wine. Order a margarita, eat the tamales, and save your wine curiosity for somewhere that returns the favor.

Durkin's is a legitimately good pizza spot that happens to have a wine list in the same way a convenience store has a wine list — it's there, it's functional, and nobody's proud of it. Come for the pies, order the beer, and if you must have wine, go Louis Martini and don't overthink it.

The Yard is a patio-and-games spot first, wine bar never — and the list is honest about that. Come for the atmosphere, order the Murphy Goode if you want wine, and save the serious bottle for somewhere else.
