Wingman Metrics
Nine wines. That's it. The entire list fits on a napkin with room left over for your phone number. This is a beer bar with a wine section stapled on as an afterthought, and it doesn't pretend otherwise.
The list reads like the bottom shelf of a grocery store wine aisle — Columbia Crest, Trapiche, Gabbiano, Black Box. These are inoffensive, mass-produced brands you'd reach for when you need something drinkable and cheap, not wines you'd seek out. There's no regional story being told here, no small producer worth getting excited about, and zero depth past the obvious varietals: Cab, Malbec, Pinot, Chard, Grigio. The lone curveball is the Broadbent Vinho Verde, which at least acknowledges that wine can be something other than big reds and safe whites.
All nine bottles are available by the glass, which is technically a 100% BTG program — impressive only in the math, not the execution. Pours run $6–$8, which is honest pricing for what you're getting. Don't expect rotation; this list is frozen in time.
Broadbent Vinho Verde — $32
The only wine on this list with any personality. Light, slightly fizzy, low-alcohol — it's the right call in a loud bar environment and it sticks out like a good idea in a bad meeting.
Broadbent Vinho Verde
Nobody walks into a gastropub and orders Vinho Verde, which is exactly why you should. It's the most interesting thing on an otherwise flat list and it's built for drinking, not sipping thoughtfully.
Black Box Cabernet
It's box wine by the glass. At $6 it's not a rip-off, but you're at a bar — just order a beer and save everyone the trouble.
Trapiche Malbec + Pub burger
Trapiche is crowd-pleasing, fruit-forward, and low-friction — exactly what you want with a charred burger. It won't blow your mind but it won't fight the food either.
The Bottom Line
Harp and Hound is a bar that happens to have wine, and it's not trying to be anything else. Come for the pints, not the Pinot.
South Ogden · Ogden · Mexican / Cantina
Cactus Grill is a solid spot for tacos, enchiladas, and a well-made margarita — the wine list is just along for the ride. If wine matters to you tonight, order the Cooper & Thief and move on; if it really matters to you, come back another night.

Timbermine earns its reputation as a reliable Ogden institution on the strength of its food and atmosphere — the wine list is just along for the ride. Come for the prime rib, order something red and Californian, and don't overthink it.

South Ogden / Riverdale Road Corridor · Ogden · Steakhouse
Ruby River's wine list is a utility player — it shows up, does what's needed for a steak dinner, and goes home. We wouldn't make the drive for the wine, but if you're already there for the prime rib, the Chateau Ste. Michelle will take care of you.

Downtown Ogden · Ogden · Fine Dining American/European-Influenced
If you think Utah wine is a punchline, this place is the correction — it's a small, serious list built around a real winemaking operation, and the value holds up. Send a curious friend here; tell them to order the La Crescent and not ask too many questions.

Grant Avenue · Ogden · Wine Bar / Cheese Bar
Mercantile isn't here to impress wine nerds, and it doesn't try to. What it offers is a genuinely low-stakes, fairly priced place to drink decent West Coast wines with a cheese board in hand — and in Ogden, that's worth something.

Ogden Beer Company is a genuinely fun riverfront spot — just order a Cougar Juice wheat and call it a day. The wine list exists, technically, but it's not trying to impress anyone and you shouldn't let it impress you.
