Wingman Metrics
Hard Count's wine list reads like a greatest hits compilation of crowd-pleasing labels — nothing that's going to stop you in your tracks, but nothing embarrassing either. For a gastropub anchored inside a hotel complex in Georgetown, Texas, the expectations are calibrated correctly. It's a wine list built to sell, not to impress.
The list clocks in at 10-15 bottles, leaning heavily on California and Italy with a nod to New Zealand and France for good measure. You've got your Sonoma-Cutrer Chardonnay for the Chardonnay crowd, Daou and Bonanza covering the Cabernet spectrum from boutique to budget, and Martin Ray holding it down for Pinot Noir drinkers who want something more interesting than the usual suspects. The French section is essentially the sparkling department — Nicolas Feuillatte Brut and Segura Viudas Rosé Cava doing the bubbly duty. Don't come here looking for Burgundy, Rhône, or anything that requires a conversation — this list was built for efficiency.
Eight by-the-glass options at $10-$14 is actually a reasonable spread for a Texas gastropub, covering sparkling, white, and red without stretching too thin. The fact that Daou Cabernet makes the glass pour list is a genuine win — it's a step above the usual house pour territory. Rotation appears nonexistent, but at these prices, that's forgivable.
Daou Cabernet Sauvignon — $14/glass
Daou punches well above its price class — a Paso Robles Cab with real structure and dark fruit that usually retails around $20-$25 a bottle. Getting it by the glass at $14 in a Texas gastropub is a minor miracle.
Segura Viudas Rosé Cava
Everyone reaches for the Prosecco, but the Segura Viudas Rosé Cava is the smarter move — Spanish bubbles with more backbone, a dry finish, and a producer that's been doing this seriously for decades. Most people at a gastropub will walk right past it.
Zonin Prosecco
Zonin is a volume producer turning out Prosecco by the tanker truck. It's inoffensive but utterly generic, and the Segura Viudas is sitting right there. No reason to default to the mass-market option.
Matua Sauvignon Blanc + Fresh Oysters
Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc and fresh oysters is a classic for a reason — the zingy citrus and grassy snap of the Matua cuts right through the brine and amplifies the ocean flavor. It's one of those pairings that just works every single time.
✔️ The Bottom Line
Hard Count is a solid neighborhood pour for Georgetown — fair prices, recognizable labels, and just enough range to keep everyone at the table happy. Don't expect a deep dive, but don't expect to suffer either.
Georgetown · Georgetown · Tex-Mex
Dos Salsas is a genuinely fun Tex-Mex spot, and we'd happily eat here — but we're ordering the frozen margarita, not opening the wine list. The pricing is fair enough that it won't hurt you, but the selection won't excite you either.

Downtown Historic Square · Georgetown · Winery / Tasting Room
Georgetown Winery isn't trying to be a destination wine experience — it's a casual, zero-markup pit stop on the historic square where the drinks are honest and the prices are shockingly fair. Send a friend here if they want to relax with Texas wine without being lectured about it.

Downtown Georgetown · Georgetown · Wine bar / tasting room
Grape Creek Georgetown is a one-portfolio show, but when that portfolio is priced at retail and the setting is this good, that's not a complaint — it's a reason to go. If you want Texas wine without the drive to the Hill Country, this square is your shortcut.

Downtown Square · Georgetown · Wine Bar / Cocktail Bar
Golden Rule Annex is a cocktail bar that happens to have wine, and that's fine — especially when Friday and Saturday bring 50% off bottles. Don't come here expecting a deep list; do come here expecting a good time at a fair price.

Saltgrass Georgetown is not a wine destination — not even close — but it's one of the rare chain steakhouses where the wine program won't leave you feeling cheated. If you're here for the steak and want something decent in your glass at a fair price, you're covered.

Red Lobster's wine list is a corporate afterthought dressed in a laminated menu, and the Georgetown location is no exception. Order the Riesling, enjoy the biscuits, and save your wine curiosity for somewhere that shares it.

Seven Saints is a genuinely fun downtown bar that simply doesn't care about wine, and that's fine — but you should know going in. Come for the whiskey, come for the burger, and if you're drinking wine, come on a Monday.

Zoobie's isn't where you go to geek out on wine, but if you're meeting friends for dinner in Old Town and someone at the table insists on a glass, you won't be stuck with regret. Grab the Malbec or the Mawby rosé, let everyone else argue about the beer list.

The Brass Tap Round Rock isn't trying to be a wine destination, and the wine list reflects that with complete honesty. Order the beer, or if you're committed to wine, grab the Oyster Bay and make peace with your surroundings.
