A hundred wines by the glass β not a typo, not a gimmick. Fleming's built its entire identity around the Fleming's 100, and walking into the Akron location, that commitment is immediately legible in the wine list's heft and the glassware on the tables. This is one of the most ambitious by-the-glass programs you'll find anywhere in northeast Ohio.
The list leans hard into California β Far Niente, Silver Oak, Caymus, Pahlmeyer, and Sea Smoke give Napa heavy representation β but France holds its own with Louis Jadot, Joseph Drouhin, Albert Bichot in Burgundy and proper Champagne houses like Ruinart and Dom PΓ©rignon. Ornellaia out of Bolgheri and Catena Zapata from Argentina show enough international range to keep this from being a purely California-and-France affair. The dessert and fortified section is genuinely exceptional: Royal Tokaji, Dolce by Far Niente, Inniskillin Icewine, ChΓ’teau Climens Barsac, and a deep Port lineup from Fonseca, Taylor Fladgate, and Sandeman β you won't find this kind of finish-the-meal depth at most steakhouses. The gap is affordable everyday drinking; under $60 a bottle, the pickings thin out quickly and the list skews toward occasion wines rather than Tuesday-night comfort.
One hundred options by the glass is the headline and it earns the attention β the range spans sparkling, white, red, dessert, Port, and Sherry, with glasses starting around $10 and climbing to $40 for the ChΓ’teau Climens Barsac. Rotation and freshness are the real question mark with a list this size, but Fleming's uses a preservation system to keep open bottles viable. For a steakhouse in Akron to give you a Fonseca Port by the glass for $8 or a Royal Tokaji for $27, that's a program that's actually trying.
Honig Sauvignon Blanc, Napa Valley β $16/glass | $64/bottle
Honig is a benchmark Napa Sauvignon Blanc β bright, clean, and genuinely food-friendly β and $64 is a fair ask for a bottle in this setting. At $16 a glass you're not getting gouged, which is notable when the list around it climbs steeply fast.
Ornellaia, Bolgheri
At $175 a bottle, Ornellaia is one of the great Italian reds landing in this list almost quietly. Most tables at a steakhouse this size are going straight for Silver Oak or Caymus without looking up β if you're drawn to Sangiovese-country complexity and Bordeaux-style structure, this Bolgheri Superiore earns every dollar and then some.
Caymus Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon
At $385 a bottle, you're paying a steep premium for a wine that retails around $85β$100 and has become so ubiquitous on steakhouse lists that it's essentially wallpaper at this point. There's nothing wrong with Caymus, but at nearly 4x retail, the juice doesn't justify the exit row price tag when Ornellaia is sitting there at $175.
Silver Oak Cabernet Sauvignon + USDA Prime Filet Mignon
Silver Oak's Alexander Valley Cab brings enough dark fruit and soft tannin structure to stand up to the filet without overwhelming it β this is the pairing that basically built Fleming's reputation, and it holds up. Classic for a reason.
π₯ The Bottom Line
Fleming's Akron is the best wine program in the Montrose corridor by a mile and a credible contender for the best by-the-glass selection in the greater Akron area β the markups are real, but when a steakhouse gives you a hundred glasses, Royal Tokaji, and Ornellaia under one roof, you work with it. Send your friends who want to drink well with dinner; just steer them away from the Caymus.

Come for the seafood β the Shrimp & Grits and Crab Cake have genuine fans β but come on a Tuesday when the bottles are half off, because that's the only time the wine program makes financial sense. Any other night, order a cocktail.

Hibachi Japan's wine list isn't going to make anyone's bucket list, but it's priced fairly, covers the basics, and won't embarrass you on date night. Order the Riesling or Pinot Gris, enjoy the show, and don't overthink it.

Bonefish Grill Fairlawn won't give you a wine moment worth texting about, but it won't rip you off either β and in the chain restaurant landscape, that clears the bar. Show up during Social Hour, grab a Kim Crawford, and focus on the fish.

Yours Truly is a solid diner doing diner things β the wine list is an afterthought, and that's fine, because you're probably here for the eggs anyway. Order the Prosecco or a Riesling, skip the red blends, and put your energy into the food.

Galaxy's Wine Room is the best wine program in the Akron orbit, and it's not particularly close β but the steep markups and thin by-the-glass selection hold it back from true destination status. Come with a budget, order a bottle, and skip the sticker shock on the Napa end of the list.
