Wingman Metrics
The name says 'tap' and the wine list confirms it — this place is here for beer, and the wine program is an afterthought stapled to the back of the menu. Four glasses, all house pours, no producers listed. You're not in the wrong place if you want a cold lager; you're very much in the wrong place if you want a decent bottle.
The list tops out somewhere around 10-20 labels, and what's visible skews entirely toward familiar California and domestic crowd-pleasers — the kind of wine that moves because people recognize the category, not the producer. There's no regional exploration here, no interesting domestic outliers, no imported anything. The gaps aren't gaps so much as a complete absence of ambition. If you came hoping for even a modest Willamette Valley Pinot or a Washington Syrah, reset your expectations immediately.
Four options: House Cabernet Sauvignon, House Chardonnay, Moscato, and Pinot Grigio. That's the whole program. At $8-$12 a glass with no producer names attached, you're essentially ordering a color and a sweetness level. Rotation is not a concept that applies here.
House Cabernet Sauvignon — $8
At the low end of the glass price range, it's the least damaging choice — Cab is hard to mess up at this level and at least delivers something resembling structure. Low bar, but it clears it.
House Pinot Grigio
Nobody orders the Pinot Grigio at a tap bar, which means it probably moves slowly and might actually be served cold and fresh. In a list this thin, that's the closest thing to a strategic advantage.
Moscato
At $8-$12 a glass for an unnamed house Moscato at a craft beer bar, you're paying restaurant markup on something that retails for next to nothing. The sweetness also reads as an odd fit for a bar-and-grill crowd. Hard pass.
House Cabernet Sauvignon + Burger
A tap bar is going to have a burger, and a house Cab — however anonymous — has enough tannin and body to hold its own against beef and char. It's not a revelation, but it's the most logical move on a very short board.

Flat Iron Tap is a beer bar and it knows it — the wine list is there because it has to be, not because anyone cared. Order the craft beer, save the wine night for somewhere else.
Lake Como / The Ridge Hotel · Lake Geneva · American
Crafted Americana's wine program is resort-standard in the fullest sense: recognizable, priced for convenience, and unlikely to generate any complaints or any real excitement. If you're at The Ridge for the weekend and want a solid glass of Cab with your prime rib, you'll be fine — just don't come expecting a discovery.

Opus is the rare fine dining wine program in the Midwest that earns the label without hedging — 346 bottles deep, French-focused, and staffed by someone who clearly knows what they're doing. The markups will sting, but for a special occasion in lake country, this is exactly where you want to be drinking.

1878 on the Lake is a solid resort restaurant doing exactly what resort restaurants do — safe selections, reliable producers, and a markup that subsidizes those lakefront views. We'd send a friend here for a nice night out on the water, but we'd tell them to skip the Reserve and order the Rosé.

Jay's is a perfectly decent neighborhood hangout where wine is an afterthought — and that's fine, except you're in Newberg, Oregon, surrounded by world-class Pinot Noir producers who'd love to be on a list like this. If you're here for the wings and a cold drink, you're in the right place; if you came for the wine, you took a wrong turn about three exits back.
