Fawn Wine & Amaro Bar

Forty-six labels at a wine-and-amaro bar in Decatur is not what you expect, and that's exactly the point. The list reads like someone raided a natural wine shop, a Greek taverna, and a Campanian farmhouse — and somehow made it work. This is not a list assembled by committee.

The white wine section alone earns serious respect: Gai'a Wild Ferment Assyrtiko, Rocco del Principe Fiano di Avellino, Feudi di San Gregorio Greco di Tufo, and Donnafugata's Etna Bianco all sharing the same menu is a flex you rarely see outside a dedicated Italian list. The sparkling section is equally adventurous — Casebianche Il Fric Pet Nat Rosato, Los Bermejos Espumo Rosado Brut Nature, and Benanti Spumante Noblesse cover the range from funky to structured without a single token Prosecco in sight. Oregon shows up via Brooks Pinot Blanc and Bow and Arrow's Time Machine Blanc, and there's even a Spatzi Tokaji Furmint to round out the old-world contingent. The gaps are noticeable on the red side — we only see fragments of that section — but what's here skews curious and confident.

Twenty-four by-the-glass options on a 46-bottle list is a genuinely generous ratio, and the pours span sparkling to dessert. The glass prices run $11–$35, with most of the interesting stuff landing in the $13–$18 range — accessible enough that you can experiment without doing mental math all night. Oddbird's non-alcoholic Blanc de Blancs at $18/glass is a thoughtful inclusion for the sober-curious crowd.
