Wingman Metrics
Nine options, no bottles, all pours — the wine list here is basically a drinks menu that someone added wine to as an afterthought. The price ceiling is $10/glass, which is refreshingly unpretentious, but the ambition stops there.
Four of the nine entries are wine cocktails — a Bellini, a Blueberry Mint Spritz, a Pomegranate Watermelon Wine Cooler, and a Mimosa — which means the actual wine selection is five labels deep. You get a Santa Cristina Cab and Pinot Grigio (reliable, mass-market Italian), a Tormaresca Chardonnay (a solid Antinori play from Puglia), an Archer Roose Draft Prosecco, and one genuinely interesting pour: the Sakouras Zoe Agiorgitiko Blend, a Greek red that nods to the restaurant's identity. There's no bottle program, no regional depth, and the gap between the food's Mediterranean soul and the wine list's reach is noticeable.
Everything is by the glass, capped at $10, which makes this approachable for a casual weeknight out. The range tops out fast though — five real wines and four boozy brunch drinks don't leave much room to explore. No rotation or seasonal program is evident.
The Bottom Line
Kafenio's wine list is functional but forgettable — it exists to check a box, not to elevate the meal. The $8–$10 pricing is fair and the Sakouras Agiorgitiko at least makes an effort to match the kitchen's roots, but if wine matters to you on this visit, temper expectations. Come for the food, order the Greek red, and call it a night.

Takumi is quietly doing something interesting with its wine program — thoughtful producers, fair prices, and nearly everything available by the glass. If you're eating ramen in Decatur and want to drink a Gamay or an orange Pinot Gris instead of a mass-market sake bomb, this is your spot. Don't sleep on it.

Sapori di Napoli isn't trying to be a wine destination, and that's fine — it's a pizzeria that put genuine thought into sixteen Italian bottles instead of padding the list with grocery-store fillers. If you're looking for a deep cellar or adventurous pours, keep walking; if you want a solid Valpolicella or a proper Brunello with your Neapolitan pie, this list delivers exactly what it promises.

Avellino's earns its stripes as a Decatur pizza institution, but the wine program is a blind spot we can't responsibly rate in detail — the data simply isn't there. Come for the Tutta Guarnita, grab a beer or a soft drink, and save the serious wine drinking for somewhere that cares about the glass as much as the crust.

Kindred is punching above its weight class with a white and sparkling program that most full-service wine bars would envy, all at prices that won't make you wince when the check arrives. The red selection is the weak link, but if you lean white, rosé, or bubbly — and many of us should — this list is worth your attention. Send your friends here and tell them to start with the Vermentino.

La Tavola deserves a real wine list — the food and the room both demand one. Right now, five bottles with no reds and no whites is a disservice to a kitchen that's clearly cooking at a higher level than the wine program suggests. Order the Ca' Del Bosco if you're drinking wine, and hope they overhaul this list before your next visit.

Fork & Vine earns its Wild Card badge by doing something most casual New American spots don't bother with: stocking wines that require a little explanation and trusting their guests to be curious. Markup is fair, the by-the-glass selection is genuinely generous, and the list skews European in ways that reward adventurous drinkers. If you're eating in Decatur and want a glass of something you haven't had before, this is where to go.

Rina's wine list is an afterthought attached to what sounds like a genuinely interesting kitchen. The four bottles available are priced fairly enough, but there's no ambition here — no connection to the cuisine, no rotation, no reason to think anyone gave the wine program more than ten minutes of consideration. Order a cocktail or a glass of the Chianti and move on.

Franks @ the Old Mill isn't trying to be a wine destination, and the list reflects that honestly — familiar labels, a few decent bottles tucked in, and no apparent effort to push guests toward anything adventurous. Without pricing data or a confirmed by-the-glass program, it's hard to fully endorse the wine experience here, but the Gessinger Riesling and the Gerard Bertrand Rosé are real options worth asking about. Come for the Mediterranean food, treat wine as a supporting character, and lower your expectations accordingly.

Efendi's wine list is a competent, fair-priced selection that plays it safe with California heavyweights while quietly sneaking in a few Turkish bottles that are the most compelling things on the menu. If you're here, do yourself a favor and skip the Prisoner, grab the Kavaklidere Yakut, and let the kitchen do what it does. It's not a destination wine list, but it won't let you down either.
