Wingman Metrics
Twenty-seven labels in Senoia, Georgia — a town most people know as the filming location for The Walking Dead — and the list actually has something to say. This isn't a steakhouse wine wall or a tourist-trap Chardonnay parade; it's a compact, French-leaning selection that feels curated by someone who knows what they're doing.
The backbone here is clearly French: Crémant de Loire in two styles, a Fleurie Gamay from Domaine Roche Guillon, a Chorey-lès-Beaune Pinot Noir, a Pauillac, and the Vieux Télégraphe Telegramme anchoring the Rhône end. Château Musar Jeune adds a Lebanon wildcard that you almost never see in small-town Georgia, and Clos La Coutale Malbec rounds out Cahors without defaulting to Argentina. The California contingent — Cliff Lede, Frank Family, Silver Oak — feels like it's there to appease the local crowd, and at $138–$240 it skews heavier than the rest of the list warrants. A few more whites and a grower Champagne or two would tighten things up considerably.
Sixteen pours from a 27-bottle list is a generous ratio — more than half the cellar is open, which is exactly what you want at a bistro where people are ordering a glass with each course rather than committing to a bottle. Prices run $10–$22 by the glass, with solid options like the Fleurie at $12 and the Château Musar Jeune at $11 giving you real wine for real money. The Veuve Clicquot Brut at $22/glass is steep but at least it's honest — you know what you're getting.
The Bottom Line
Bistro Hilary is punching well above its zip code — a thoughtful, French-forward list with fair pricing and a by-the-glass program that's genuinely worth exploring. If you're anywhere near Senoia, this is the wine list you didn't expect to find, and that's exactly the point.

· Duluth · French/European
Kurt's Euro Bistro punches above its weight in the Duluth dining scene — not because the list is long, but because someone clearly cared enough to put three Trimbach selections and two Dow's Tawny Ports on a 22-bottle card. The Alsace focus gives it a genuine identity, and fair bottle pricing means you won't feel punished for ordering well. If you're in the area and want an honest glass of European white with your coq au vin, this is your spot.

· Alpharetta · French/European
OneDayinParis is doing something uncommon in the suburbs: saying no to everything that doesn't belong. A four-wine list sounds like a limitation, but when the four wines are Sancerre, Premier Cru Chablis, Châteauneuf-du-Pape, and Champagne at reasonable prices, it reads more like confidence. If you want range, look elsewhere — if you want a focused, well-chosen French glass with your dinner, this is a genuine find in Alpharetta.

· Milton · French/European
L'Antoinette is doing something genuinely surprising in Milton — a Bordeaux-focused wine list with real producers, fair bottle prices, and enough by-the-glass options to make a solo diner feel taken care of. We'd send a friend here specifically for the wine, and that's not something we say about many suburban French spots.
