The list at Matto is compact but considered — 38 bottles organized into categories like 'Owner's Selection' and 'Classic Italian Reds,' which tells you someone actually thought about this. Bottle prices cap out at $166 and start at $42, keeping things accessible without dumbing it down. It's not trying to impress you with obscure natural wine, but it's not boring either.
The Italian thread running through this list is its best quality — Banfi Chianti Classico, Zaccagnini Montepulciano, and the Donna Laura Super Tuscan give you a real tour of the peninsula without the pretension. The Pecchenino Botti Baby Barolo is a legit inclusion that punches above its category. On the international side, Marques di Riscal Rioja and Dr. Loosen Riesling add some Old World credibility, while the Raimat Albariño rounds out the whites nicely. The gaps are on the Champagne and orange wine side — if you want bubbles or anything funky, you're out of luck.
Twenty-nine by-the-glass options out of 38 total labels is an unusually generous ratio — basically the whole list is open. Glass prices run $12–$18, which is honest for the quality level on offer. Most people at a neighborhood wine bar are going to reach for the Belle Glos or the Earthquake. Skip them and order this Barolo — Pecchenino is a serious Langhe producer and 'Baby Barolo' still delivers that Nebbiolo structure most places don't even bother stocking.
Sonoma-Cutrer Chardonnay
At $58 a bottle, you're paying a solid markup on a wine that retails around $20. It's fine, but it's airport wine list Chardonnay — safe, buttery, and not why you came to a wine bar.
