Walking into Bagatelle, the wine list feels like it's dressed for a special occasion — Dom Pérignon, Opus One, Cardinale — serious names stacked in a spot that's also cranking out brunch cocktails on Duval Street. It's an interesting tension. The list wants to be taken seriously, and in stretches, it earns it.
About 150 labels with genuine range: Champagne from Bollinger, Billecart-Salmon, and Veuve Clicquot anchor the bubbles section, while Napa heavy-hitters like Opus One 2018, Overture MV, and Verité La Joie 2015 dominate the reds. The real surprise is the Château Beaucastel Châteauneuf-du-Pape collection — multiple vintages including 2004, 2006, 2007, and 2009 — which suggests someone actually cared enough to build a cellar here rather than just phone it in. Italy gets a nod with Brunello di Montalcino Val di Suga 2016, though the Italian and Oregon sections could use more depth beyond the headliners.
Ten to eighteen options by the glass is a respectable range for a busy tourist corridor, and prices running $14–$22 are honestly in line with the Key West market. That said, the by-the-glass program leans predictable — expect crowd-pleasing varietals rather than anything that'll make you put your phone down.
Bollinger Special Cuvée NV — $Bottle pricing
Among the Champagne options, Bollinger Special Cuvée is the one worth ordering — it consistently punches above its price tier relative to the prestige names on this list, and it holds up in the Key West heat better than a lot of delicate whites would.
Château Beaucastel Châteauneuf-du-Pape 2004
Most people at Bagatelle are ordering Opus One or the Veuve without even scanning past the first page — which means the aged Beaucastel CdP, particularly the 2004, is just sitting there. That's a bottle with almost two decades of development and the complexity to justify a real dinner conversation around it.
Veuve Clicquot Yellow Label NV
Veuve Yellow Label is a fine Champagne but it's everywhere, and on a list with Bollinger and Billecart-Salmon available, paying Bagatelle's markup for the most generic choice on the shelf is a waste of the opportunity.
Brunello di Montalcino Val di Suga 2016 + Sambuca Mussels
The Brunello's earthy backbone and dried herb notes find an unlikely but solid match with the anise-forward Sambuca broth — both are pulling in the same Mediterranean direction, and the wine's acidity keeps the richness of the mussels from getting too heavy.
The Bottom Line
Bagatelle is a legit wine list running inside a tourist-district brunch machine — the Beaucastel vertical and the Napa prestige lineup are genuine, but the markups reflect the zip code. Go with eyes open, skip the obvious choices, and you'll drink well.

Bagatelle is doing more with wine than most restaurants in the Keys bother to attempt, and for a tourist-heavy Duval Street address, that matters. The markups are real and the list skews safe-prestige, but if you're in Key West and want a proper bottle with your lobster, this is where you go.

Thirsty Mermaid is a Wild Card in the best sense — a no-frills raw bar that somehow sourced a wine list worthy of a much fancier room. The markups on the high-end bottles are steep and there's no wine program energy to speak of, but the Cava-and-oysters combination alone is worth the stop.

The Roost is a hotel bar doing more than the minimum — there's real range here and a few genuinely good picks if you know where to look. Just go in expecting to pay for the waterfront zip code, and you'll have a fine time.

Moondog isn't a wine destination, and it doesn't pretend to be — but it offers a surprisingly considered little list at prices that don't insult your intelligence, which puts it well ahead of the tourist-trap cafes clustered around it. If you're in Old Town and want a glass with your morning or a light lunch, there are worse decisions you'll make in Key West.
