Walking into 2Johns, you expect the usual steakhouse wine list β a wall of Napa Cabs and a token Chardonnay. What you get instead is a list that claims 800 selections and actually backs it up with some interesting producers hiding between the crowd-pleasers. The half-price bottle program promoted on their Instagram is the real headline here, and it's legitimate enough to plan your week around.
The list leans heavily California, as you'd expect in a steak house, but there are smart detours β Eroica Riesling from Washington, Simonnet-Febvre CrΓ©mant de Bourgogne, and Vietti's 'Cascinetta' Moscato show someone is paying attention beyond Napa. Ancien Pinot Noir and Eberle Cabernet are solid mid-tier picks that won't embarrass anyone at the table. The Chappellet Mountain Cuvee and Prisoner Red Blend cover the bold-and-plush angle for guests who want big fruit with their ribeye. There's room to go deeper on Old World options β France and Italy feel underrepresented given the stated list size β but what's shown is curated well enough to avoid calling it filler.
Twenty-seven by-the-glass options at $10β$25 is a genuinely strong program for a Bossier City steakhouse β that's not a backhanded compliment, that's just true. The range covers sparkling through dessert-adjacent with Vietti Moscato anchoring the sweeter end. A sommelier on staff means these pours should rotate with intention rather than sitting on the list until the bottle runs out.
Prisoner Red Blend, California β $19
The Prisoner retails around $25β$30 a bottle, so getting a glass at $19 is fair β but on a half-price bottle night, a full bottle at roughly $50 off retail price is a genuine steal with a prime steak in front of you.
Morgan Metallico Unoaked Chardonnay, California
Most guests at a steakhouse are going to reach for the Kendall-Jackson out of habit. The Morgan Metallico is the smarter move β unoaked, bright, and built for seafood without any of the butter-bomb baggage that bores you halfway through a crab leg.
Kendall-Jackson Grand Reserve Chardonnay, California
It's fine. It's also the wine your aunt brings to Thanksgiving. You're at a restaurant with a sommelier and 800 bottles β there's no reason to default to KJ Grand Reserve when better Chardonnay options are sitting right next to it on the same list.
Eroica Riesling, Washington + Crab Legs
Eroica's signature balance of stone fruit and sharp acidity cuts through the richness of crab without overpowering the sweetness of the meat. It's the kind of pairing that makes people stop mid-bite and ask what they're drinking.
Sunday, Monday, Wednesday β Half price on all bottles Sunday and Monday. Wednesdays: half price on all bottles priced $99 and under, all evening.
π² The Bottom Line
2Johns is the rare steakhouse where the wine program actually earns attention β and on Sunday, Monday, or Wednesday, it earns a reservation. If you're in the Shreveport-Bossier area and you time your visit right, this is legitimately one of the better wine value plays in the region.
Line Avenue / South Highlands Β· Shreveport Β· Tex-Mex
Superior Grill is the Wild Card precisely because nobody expects a Tex-Mex place on Line Avenue to stock Cakebread and Merry Edwards alongside a $6 house pour β but here we are. Tuesday half-price wine at the bar is one of the better deals in Shreveport, full stop.

Bella Fresca is doing more with five bottles than most Shreveport spots do with fifty, but a wine program this thin can't fully carry a chef's table concept. Come for the food, order the Languedoc, and hope they expand the list soon.

Fat Calf Brasserie is punching well above Shreveport's wine expectations β a legitimately thoughtful list in a city where most restaurants mail it in. Yes, send a friend here for wine, especially if they're ordering steak or mussels.

Bella Fresca is doing something that shouldn't work in Shreveport but quietly does β a focused, globally curious wine list that leans Oregon and Southern France instead of taking the easy path. It's not perfect, but it's the kind of place you send a friend when they insist they can't find good wine in Louisiana.

Pierremont / Provenance Β· Shreveport Β· Steakhouse / Piano Bar
Superior's is doing real work with its wine program by Shreveport standards β a serious list, legitimate producers, and a half-price Monday that should be on your weekly calendar. The markup on a regular night stings, but this is the kind of place that earns the splurge when the piano's playing and the steak is right.

B. Christopher's is a dependable wine stop for a classic steakhouse experience β just go on a Wednesday when the bottle prices get cut in half and the math finally makes sense. If you're craving Caymus with a ribeye and an expense account, you'll be happy; if you want exploration, this isn't your room.

Duane's is a beautiful room inside a landmark hotel, and it deserves a wine list as thoughtful as its surroundings β this isn't it. If you're here for a special occasion, budget accordingly, lean toward Champagne or Merlot, and don't let the leather binder convince you you're getting a deal.
