North Louisiana's Most Serious Steakhouse Wine List

Wingman Metrics
Walking into 2Johns, the wine list feels like it belongs somewhere a few zip codes fancier — this is not the laminated two-pager you expect from a Bossier City steakhouse lounge. Twenty-two by-the-glass options and a sommelier on staff signals that someone here actually cares. The room has live music and cocktail energy, but the wine program quietly punches above its weight.
The list leans California-heavy, which tracks for a steakhouse crowd, but there are genuine bright spots: Vietti 'Cascinetta' Moscato and Simonnet-Febvre Cremant de Bourgogne show some Old World intentionality, and Eroica Riesling from Washington represents a smart, food-friendly curveball. Ridge Three Valleys Zinfandel and Chappellet Mountain Cuvee give the red wine side some credibility beyond the usual suspects. The gaps are noticeable — no real Burgundy depth, no Spanish options we can see, and the Italian section is thin outside of the Vietti pour. Still, for Shreveport-Bossier, this is the benchmark.
Twenty-two by-the-glass options is legitimately impressive for this market — most steakhouses in the region top out at ten and call it a day. Glass prices land between $10 and $25, which is accessible for what you're getting. We'd love to see more rotation and seasonal swaps, but what's on the list is well-curated and covers whites, reds, and bubbly without feeling padded.
Ridge Three Valleys Zinfandel — $15
Ridge is a household name in California Zinfandel — complex, layered, and consistently good. At $15 a glass, you're getting genuine quality for the price of a mediocre well cocktail. Order it.
Morgan Metallico Unoaked Chardonnay
Most people at a steakhouse aren't thinking about unoaked Chardonnay, but the Morgan Metallico is a clean, bright Monterey pour that won't beat you over the head with butter and vanilla. Great for anyone who swore off Chardonnay after a bad oaky experience — this one might bring you back.
Prisoner Red Blend
The Prisoner is everywhere — every Applebee's-adjacent wine list in America has it. At $19 a glass it's not a rip-off exactly, but you're paying for brand recognition more than anything in your glass. With Ridge and Chappellet on the same list, there's no reason to default to this one.
Eberle Cabernet Sauvignon + Prime Ribeye
Eberle is a Paso Robles producer that knows how to make a Cab with structure and warmth — exactly what a marbled Prime Ribeye needs to sing. The wine's dark fruit and firm tannins cut through the fat without overwhelming the beef. Classic pairing, executed with good ingredients on both sides.
✔️ The Bottom Line
2Johns is the real deal for this corner of Louisiana — a wine list with actual ambition, fair glass prices, and staff who know what's on it. If you're eating steak in the Shreveport-Bossier area, this is where you want to be drinking.
Line Avenue / South Highlands · Shreveport · Tex-Mex
Superior Grill is the Wild Card precisely because nobody expects a Tex-Mex place on Line Avenue to stock Cakebread and Merry Edwards alongside a $6 house pour — but here we are. Tuesday half-price wine at the bar is one of the better deals in Shreveport, full stop.

Line Avenue / East Shreveport · Shreveport · Mediterranean / New American
Bella Fresca is doing more with five bottles than most Shreveport spots do with fifty, but a wine program this thin can't fully carry a chef's table concept. Come for the food, order the Languedoc, and hope they expand the list soon.

Line Avenue / East Shreveport · Shreveport · Wine Bar / Mediterranean
Bella Fresca is doing something that shouldn't work in Shreveport but quietly does — a focused, globally curious wine list that leans Oregon and Southern France instead of taking the easy path. It's not perfect, but it's the kind of place you send a friend when they insist they can't find good wine in Louisiana.

Pierremont / Provenance · Shreveport · Steakhouse / Piano Bar
Superior's is doing real work with its wine program by Shreveport standards — a serious list, legitimate producers, and a half-price Monday that should be on your weekly calendar. The markup on a regular night stings, but this is the kind of place that earns the splurge when the piano's playing and the steak is right.

South Highlands / Line Avenue · Shreveport · Modern Mexican, tacos and casual Latin fusion
Ki' Mexico is a Wild Card in the best possible way — a lively taco spot that quietly stocks a wine list built with actual taste. If you're in Shreveport and want something other than a frozen margarita, this is your move.

Shrewsbury Street · Worcester · Steakhouse Bar
111 Chop House Bar is doing exactly what it set out to do — give Worcester a place to order trophy Napa bottles alongside a prime cut. The markups sting and the list won't surprise anyone, but if you know what you're looking for, you'll find it.

Mason Street Grill's bar delivers a dependable, well-housed wine program that earns its hotel-steakhouse reputation without taking many risks. The Capital Grille bar is a reliable destination if someone else is picking up the tab or you're cherry-picking by the glass. The list is deep and well-managed, but the markup math is hard to ignore when you're the one signing the check.
