Wingman Metrics
The wine list at Zest is exactly what you'd expect from a rooftop bar that knows its lane — short, approachable, and built for people who want a glass with a view, not a dissertation on terroir. Ten options by the glass, moderate bottle prices, and nothing that's going to scare off a casual drinker. It's unpretentious in the best way.
The list pulls from all the usual suspects — Washington State, California, Chile, Argentina, Italy, and a French rosé for good measure. Producers like Chateau Ste. Michelle, La Vieille Ferme, and Finca el Origen are recognizable and reliable, but don't expect any deep cuts or regional outliers here. There's no Burgundy rabbit hole, no natural wine curiosity, no skin-contact anything — just clean, broadly appealing bottles that get the job done on a warm rooftop evening. The gap between what they're offering and what a more ambitious list could look like is real, but it's clearly a conscious choice rather than neglect.
Ten BTG options is actually a solid count for a spot this size, covering all the bases from Prosecco to Malbec. Regular pours land at $9–$12, which is fair for the market, and happy hour drops select pours to $6 — a genuinely good deal that gives casual drinkers a reason to show up early. Rotation doesn't appear to be a priority; this looks like a set-and-forget program, but the selections are consistent enough that you won't feel burned.
La Vieille Ferme Rosé — $9/glass
One of the most reliable QPR rosés on the market, full stop. At $9 a glass on a rooftop in the Lehigh Valley, this Luberon pink is practically a public service. Crisp, crowd-friendly, and priced like they actually want you to order it.
Chateau Ste. Michelle Riesling
Most people at a rooftop bar reach for the Chardonnay or Cab and never look back. The Chateau Ste. Michelle Riesling from Washington State is the sleeper on this list — off-dry with enough acid to cut through a warm summer evening. Most guests walk right past it, which means more for those who know.
The Applicant Merlot
Chilean Merlot from a brand called 'The Applicant' is not where you want to spend your money, even at these prices. It's the wine list equivalent of filler content — unoffensive but completely forgettable. Spend those dollars on the rosé instead.
Finca el Origen Malbec + Rooftop Burger
Argentine Malbec and a grilled burger is one of those combinations that exists for a reason. The Finca el Origen brings enough dark fruit and structure to stand up to beef without overpowering it — and at a rooftop bar with a grill in the name, this is exactly the kind of no-drama pairing that just works.
✔️ The Bottom Line
Zest isn't where you go to geek out on wine, but it is where you go to drink something decent while watching the sun dip over Bethlehem without dropping $100. For a rooftop bar, this list is honest, fairly priced, and does exactly what it promises.
Downtown Bethlehem · Allentown · Upscale American
1741 on the Terrace isn't trying to be a wine destination, but the fortified and dessert wine program alone is worth the visit — it's genuinely rare to find this much care put into the end-of-meal pours. Come for the atmosphere, stay through dessert.

Edge is a dependable night out for wine in a market that doesn't always take the glass seriously — the list won't dazzle you, but it won't embarrass you either. Send a friend here knowing they'll drink well; just steer them away from the rosé markup.

Chop House does what a casino steakhouse wine list is supposed to do: it stocks the names people recognize, charges casino prices for them, and gets out of the way. If you're here for the prime ribeye and a bottle of Jordan, you'll leave happy — just don't look too hard at the markups.

Bolete is the best wine list in the Lehigh Valley by a comfortable margin, and it would hold its own in most major cities. If you're driving 45 minutes for dinner, the wine list alone makes it worth the trip.

Westside Grill is the dependable date-night wine list you've seen a hundred times — California hits, a few smart French imports, markups that lean steep but not insulting. It's not a destination for wine lovers, but it won't ruin your dinner either.
