Wingman Metrics
The name sets expectations high, but this is a neighborhood bistro first, wine destination second — and that's okay. The list is approachable without being embarrassing, and at $9–$12 a glass, you're not going to feel robbed. What you see is pretty much what you get: a crowd-friendly lineup that doesn't take many risks.
California dominates the list, with multiple Cabernets, a Pinot Noir or two, a Zinfandel, and a Petite Sirah filling out the reds. The bright spot is a genuine nod to the local region — Salmon Run Riesling and Lamoreaux Landing Gewürztraminer from the Finger Lakes are welcome inclusions that show someone here is paying at least a little attention. Beyond that, there's a Beaujolais from France and a Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc rounding things out, but don't come looking for Burgundy, Barolo, or anything requiring a backstory. This list is built to move, not to impress.
With nearly the entire list available by the glass, the BTG program is essentially the whole show — and at $9–$12 a pour, the pricing is genuinely reasonable for Niagara Falls. The breadth means you can work your way through several pours without a big financial commitment, though variety-seekers will notice the California-heavy sameness pretty quickly.
Lamoreaux Landing Gewürztraminer, New York 2022 — $12
Lamoreaux Landing is a legit Finger Lakes producer, and Gewürztraminer is one of the region's best grapes. Getting a glass of this for around $12 at a downtown Niagara Falls bistro is a genuine deal — and it's the kind of wine that makes the region proud.
Chat de Jarnoux Beaujolais, France 2023
Most people ordering red here are reaching for a Cab, which means this Beaujolais gets overlooked. It shouldn't. A good Beaujolais is light, food-friendly, and actually interesting — everything else on the red side of this list isn't.
Canyon Road Cabernet Sauvignon, California 2024
Canyon Road is a mass-market supermarket brand. Paying restaurant prices for something you can find at a gas station for $8 a bottle is a hard sell when there are better Cabs on this very same list.
Terra d'Oro Zinfandel, California 2022 + Wood-fired pizza
Zinfandel's jammy fruit and spice notes hold up to a wood-fired crust and whatever's bubbling on top. Terra d'Oro makes a solid, crowd-friendly version that doesn't fight the food — it just makes a casual pizza night feel a little more intentional.
✔️ The Bottom Line
Wine on Third isn't going to change how you think about wine lists, but it delivers a fair, honest glass in a relaxed downtown setting without gouging you for the privilege. If you're in Niagara Falls and want something decent in your glass at a reasonable price, this is your spot.
Niagara-on-the-Lake · Niagara Falls · Italian
Kitchen 76 is a wine destination that happens to serve excellent Italian food, not the other way around. If you're near Niagara-on-the-Lake and you haven't made a reservation here yet, fix that.

This is a chain wine list doing chain wine list things — nothing more, nothing less. If you're in Niagara Falls and care about what's in your glass, find a local spot; if you're already committed to LongHorn, order the Riesling and put your energy into the steak.

Koi is a perfectly competent casino wine list — safe producers, limited range, and markups that reflect the captive audience. If you're here for the food and the vibe, order the Riesling and don't overthink it.

The Western Door is exactly what a well-run casino steakhouse wine program should be — dependable, properly stored, and wide enough to keep everyone at the table happy. It's not a destination for wine lovers, but it's a solid Reliable that won't embarrass you on a business dinner or a night out before the falls.

La Cascata is the rare casino restaurant where the wine list doesn't feel like an afterthought — there's real Italian depth here if you look past the headline names. Just know you're paying casino prices for the privilege, and no one's coming to check on your glass knowledge.

Bella Vista isn't trying to be a wine destination, and it doesn't pretend to be — but the pricing is fair, the glass selection is generous, and there are a few legitimate bottles worth ordering if you know where to look. Send a friend here for dinner without guilt; just steer them away from the Moscato.
