Wingman Metrics
You open the menu expecting an Italian wine list and instead find two options — a Red Blend and a Pinot Grigio, both $38. That's not a wine program, that's a coin flip.
The entire list is two house wines filed under 'Vino Della Casa,' which tells you exactly how much thought went into this. There are no producers named, no regions beyond that vague Italian umbrella, no depth to speak of. If you were hoping to explore Italian wine country — Barolo, Vermentino, Montepulciano, anything — you are in the wrong place. This is wine as an afterthought, a checkbox on the menu rather than a curated experience.
Two pours: a Red Blend or a Pinot Grigio, both $10 a glass. The math is clean — roughly 3.8 glasses per bottle at $38 — which means the markup is at least reasonable. But when you have two options, 'by the glass' stops being a selling point and starts being a hostage situation.
The Bottom Line
Va Bene is presumably doing something right in the kitchen, but the wine list is a two-item afterthought that tells you this place doesn't take wine seriously. Order a glass, enjoy your pasta, and don't expect anything more.

Sammy's is a Duluth institution and the pizza earns its reputation — the wine list is just not the point, and the restaurant isn't pretending otherwise. Order a beer or grab the cheapest glass pour, eat the pizza, and be happy.

Old Chicago Duluth isn't a wine destination and doesn't pretend to be — it's a reliable fallback for the table member who wants a glass of something decent while everyone else works through the tap list. If you stick to the Ste. Michelle Riesling, you'll leave satisfied; just don't come here expecting anything that will make you put down your pizza.

Outback Duluth is a perfectly fine place to eat a steak; it is not a place to think about wine. Order the Alamos Malbec, enjoy your sirloin, and save the wine exploration for somewhere that's doing the work.
