First Impression
USS Nemo's wine list feels like an afterthought to the seafood program — functional but uninspired. It's the kind of list that gets the job done without making anyone excited, built around safe names that won't scare off tourists.
Selection Deep Dive
The selection leans heavily on California Chardonnay and Pinot Grigio, with predictable Italian whites and a few French options for credibility. You'll find the usual suspects — Kendall-Jackson, La Crema, maybe a Whispering Angel rosé for the poolside crowd. The red side skews toward Cabernet and Merlot, which makes sense for a seafood restaurant but limits versatility. There's little regional exploration or producer depth, just recognizable labels at restaurant-standard markups.
By the Glass
Glass pours stick to the greatest hits: a safe Pinot Grigio, an oaky Chardonnay, maybe a Sauvignon Blanc. Expect 4-6 options that rotate seasonally if you're lucky, but more likely stay static year-round. Pours are generous enough, but nothing here pushes boundaries or showcases anything interesting.
Muscadet Sèvre et Maine — $42
If they stock it, this Loire Valley classic brings mineral-driven acidity that cuts through butter sauces without the Chablis markup
Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi
Most people gloss over this Italian white for Pinot Grigio, but it's got more character and pairs brilliantly with shellfish
Any Chardonnay over $65
Seafood restaurants love marking up California Chard to absurd levels — you're paying for the name, not the juice
Albariño from Rías Baixas + Grilled Red Snapper
This Spanish coastal white has the salinity and citrus zip to mirror the char and ocean flavors perfectly
✔️ The Bottom Line
USS Nemo won't win awards for its wine program, but it won't ruin your meal either. Come for the seafood, order a glass of something crisp and cold, and save the serious wine hunting for another night.
