RagingWine reviewed Trattoria Italia’s wine list and gave it The Lazy List — RagingWine’s Vibe-Check rating. How RagingWine reviews wine lists →
Wingman Metrics
Trattoria Italia puts real effort into its dining room — warm lighting, live music, the works. Then you open the wine list and it's over in about four seconds. Four labels total is not a wine program; it's a placeholder.
The list consists of exactly four entries, and based on what we can see, it's anchored by Pio Cesare Barbaresco and Quinta de la Rosa Vintage Port — listed twice each, which suggests a by-the-glass and bottle split rather than any actual depth. Pio Cesare is a solid, classic Piedmontese house, and the Barbaresco is a respectable pour for an Italian restaurant. The Quinta de la Rosa Vintage Port as a dessert option is a reasonable call. But two producers, full stop, for an upscale Italian trattoria serving lobster ravioli at $40 a plate? That's a mismatch.
Glass pour options are unclear from available sources, though the duplicate listings suggest at least some wines are offered by the glass. Without confirmed pour pricing or a verified glass menu, we can't tell you what a pour will actually cost you — and that opacity alone is frustrating.
The Bottom Line
Trattoria Italia is clearly a restaurant that cares about its food and its room — the vodka rigatoni and seafood linguine have fans, and the vibe earns its date-night reputation. But the wine program is an afterthought at best, and at a price point where you'd expect at least a thoughtful Italian-focused list, four labels feels like a real missed opportunity. Order a cocktail or bring your own if corkage is an option — and check before you go.
· Henderson · Contemporary Italian
This is not a wine list — it's four wines — but they're four good, regionally diverse Italian wines at fair prices from real producers. If you're eating at North Italia Henderson and someone at your table knows what Greco di Tufo or Negroamaro actually are, you'll be pleasantly surprised. If you're expecting depth, options, or a proper cellar program, you won't find it here.

Downtown Henderson · Henderson · Wine Pub / Casual Dining
Rock N Grapes earns its Wild Card badge by being genuinely fun in a wine scene that desperately needs more casual entry points. We'd go back for the vibe alone — and we'd bring someone who thinks wine bars are intimidating, because this one isn't.

Azzurra punches above its Henderson address, especially on bubbles — this is the kind of thoughtful small list that rewards people who actually read it. We'd send a friend here without hesitation, as long as they stay away from the $28 Merlot.

Parlour is a genuine surprise in a market that usually plays it safe — a focused, all-by-the-glass list with real Old World ambition at prices that don't insult you. If you're passing through Henderson and need a wine stop, this is it.

Galleria · Henderson · American Sports Bar & Grill
Twin Peaks Henderson is a sports bar — a good one, by all accounts — and you should treat it like one. Drink the beer, it's served ice cold and that's the whole idea. The wine list is an afterthought, and ordering from it feels like asking a bounce house rental company for fine dining recommendations.

Borracha is a tequila bar that also sells wine, and the list reflects that priority clearly. If your crew is on margaritas and you want a glass of something approachable, you'll find it — just don't show up expecting a wine destination.

Sotto Sotto is a genuinely Italian wine list in a city that usually settles for Italian-American approximations — the Timorasso, the Lambrusco di Sorbara, the Franciacorta all signal real intent. The glass program is accessible, markups are reasonable, and the bubbles section alone justifies a visit. If you want depth across all of Italy, you'll hit the edges fast at 68 labels, but what's here is well-chosen. Send a friend who likes to drink something they've never heard of.

BoccaLupo is the kind of Italian wine list that makes you realize how lazy most Italian restaurant wine lists are. Fair pricing, genuine range, and a by-the-glass program that rewards exploration over habit — this is a list worth your attention. If you're the kind of person who orders Verdicchio or Furmint on a Tuesday night in Decatur, this place already knows you're coming.

No. 246 is pulling off something quietly impressive: a short, all-by-the-glass wine list that still manages to surface obscure Italian grapes and quality producers without charging for the privilege. The $14–$21 glass range is honest, the Italian focus is genuine, and the Cincinnato Nero Buono alone earns a visit. If you're in Decatur and want to drink well without doing homework, this is a reliable place to let the list do the thinking.
